my mate has just met Kyle Walker out in Portugal playing golf. he told him he is going to either Man City or Barcelona.

Thought he wanted to be closer to home. He'll have a shock when he finds out Barcelona is further away from Sheffield than London.

But seriously, if true (big IF). How is it even a discussion, for either party? He gets to play for Barcelona and live in one of the best cities in the world, with a wonderful climate and will almost certainly double his already unspendable wages, and we flog him abroad and not to a rival. Absolute no brainier surely?

They won't pay anywhere near the transfer fee city would pay. Would you take 30 from barca or 60 from city.

The Barca part is true, I believe they was in for him before City. However Walkers first choice is Bayern (not saying they're in for him).

It doesn't matter what I would do but I personally think you have to weigh up. Would Walker improve a rival to the extent you'd give away £30m? Probably not. If we sold him for less they would probably go and buy someone of similar or better quality anyway.

I can't work out if I'm excited that there's no incoming ITK as it potentially means we are plugging the leaks while grafting for a sought after superstar, or depressed that we'll probably end up with being mugged off by Everton for Barkley on the last day and some young french/Ghanaian from the French second tier that nobody has heard of (but looks good on YouTube) is our only signing.

There's still lots of time but I don't like the idea of us leaving it until everyone else has had their go and we're left with the plan B's and C's.

my mates not winding me up. he has no reason to. he sent a picture with him with walker. I also saw Walker on instagram yesterday in Portugal playing golf.
