Didnt Redknapp compare Sandro to Socrates...that indicates to me that he never saw him play. He may have sanctioned the deal but it doesnt mean it was his decision to buy him.

Still....none of this is ITK.

I do think HR will be off and i hope berba1981 itk is correct

Obviously we don't know it, but common sense tells you that.

Do you honestly believe that the decisive factor in VDV's transfer was the fact that HR was boss?

EXACTLY!!!! My god!!!! We're talking about HR... ex WEST HAM, PORTSMOUTH etc etc He's LUCKY to be at SPURS never mind HR having pulling power to attract players or even make players want to stay.

Why does common sense tell you that? Personally I don't think it was a decisive factor but I also suspect that it WAS one of many factors. Common sense dictates that a player won't go somewhere without at least having spoken to the manager or at least to people in the know about the manager.

My personal view is that if Harry left we might lose some players simply because of the uncertainty it would cause, not because the players are so devoted to Harry that they'd go if he wasn't there. But it's also clear that some players really do enjoy playing for him and therefore, logically, their position at the club would be less certain if Harry left.

I also suspect that this is all irrelevant anyway as Harry won't be going anywhere unless he goes to Chelsea or Liverpool...something I don't see happening.

The spurs players seem to want Harry.

The England supporters want Harry.

Abramovich might want Harry?

Eden Hazard might want Harry?

The only people who don't want Harry are Spurs fans (and Trevor Brooking). I don't get it.

I agree to a extent but some things to remember

whilst he has been very good here this has been the best squad we had since 1987 and for us not to get third was unbelievable

The grass is always greener on the other side imo and Harry imo is not a great club manager but he would of been a great international manager imo

Also the main reason chelsea would love him is because he would deal well with the groups of players at chelsea i.e. the african players, the english players and etc. as the chelsea dressing room is very divided

hmm...

actually i think some players do play for Harry... think he is loyal and a man of his word... most are us were surprised that he stuck with Cudi for the semis... but from interviews, seems that there wasn't even a choice that he would stick with the cup keeper for the match.

whatever happens harry has done wonders for us, would be a blow to lose him. think what we need is consistency, not chopping and changing at the slightest problem.

I see your point and I agree with it from the aspect of players leaving due to the uncertainty.

I still don't believe Harry has that pull factor. Spurs are ready for the next level. That level where its not about the passion and the skill of the performance (because we have that now (most of the time)) but, it's about tactics and team-talks, honesty and trust.

Top class players, despite how money-grabbing they are, will want that too.

Whilst I agree some players do play for harry, I do disagree with with harry sticking with players in the team as there have been many occasions harry has taken players out for other players despite them performing well before like kranjcar

are players like bale even that keen on harry?

from what i remember, redknapp had frozen him out just like he's done with dos santos etc,

bale was on his way to notts forest on loan in jan 2010 until ekotto got injured so harry was forced to keep him. All this stuff about harry making bale 'the player he is today' is wide of the mark in my opinion.

and as for him being loyal? where was that loyalty when he ditched portsmouth, got himself ready to leave us for england when they came calling?

in the 2010/11 season, modric got injured around jan. kranjcar was drafted in to play in the centre, scores 2 sublime winners in back to back games, yet isnt given another go in the middle and has been pushed out wide ever since where he is just not fast enough.

i dont want harry to leave but i think all this talk of him being 'loyal' etc just isnt reality, he's a good manager but he's always been about the money.

Harry ain't going anywhere. Guardiola will be Chelsea manager by next summer, anyone who goes there now would just be filling in.

I thought Rafa said somewhere he had a conversation with Redknapp too. Might be wrong.

In the 8 minutes we had to do the transfer?

I think if anyone, Rafa would absolutely thrive under a tactically astute manager (who would stop playing him on the wing for starters).

This is such rubbish, Harry has many failings you don't have to fabricate them. Compare the amount times VDV has played behind the striker to on the right under Redknapp. And also some of those times on the right have been to accommodate a 433 with two holding players, which is what all the tactical intelligensia on here so dearly want, even though Rafa doesn't fit into it.

It seems VDV spoke to the Chairman and Harry. But his main influence on the move came from former Spurs & Holland midfielder, Edgar Davids. He then "fell in love with the club".

And yes. My option if I was Levy is to "part company" mutually with Redknapp, as its the least he deserves. This is not sarcasm here, its straight. He's done an impressive job to turn us around from what we were to where we are now. But we need the next level.

And for our club (and Rafa too), I would love Louis van Gaal.

Everyone agrees that HR has done well for Spurs in the time he has been here. This is not in doubt to any reasonably minded fan. The gripe many fans have with him is that he is first and foremost concerned with himself, with his own reputation and with how he can advance himself.

I hold a contrary opinion that HR is not a loyal man or a man of his word. I think he will do or say anything in order to make himself seem better in a situation and try to improve his reputation. That's why he hates the wheeler dealer tag, because he feels that is somehow derogative and doesn't do him justice.

Levy stuck with HR through his heart op when others hadnt. Levy stuck with HR through his tax evasion trial when others wouldnt. From that point on HR was blabbing on about England this, England that and took us on a run which ended our hope of 3rd place. If you ask any West Ham, Portsmouth, Southampton or Bournemouth fan their opinion they will be scathing in their analysis and you will probably hear the term "left us in a worse position". I don't believe HR would want Spurs to do better after him than he did. Its his personal agenda.

But we need the next level.

Oh, my! There it is the SC cliche to end all cliches. There is no guaranteed "next level" manager, until we pay players £100k-200k a week. Harry got us to the QFs of the CL, has finished in the qualifying position for CL two out of his three full seasons, no manager will guarantee CL every season on our wage budget. That I can guarantee.

(y) I seem to remember ramos being the one to take us to the next level too - and we all know how well that worked out!
