Thought the accepted pun spelling is "Dire"? Has been since I started on this interwebz thingybob.

Yeah...but Die-r (one who is in the process of dying), could be a euphemistic referencing of his career path

It's a slight pitty POTL is on COYS where freedom of speach is prohibited.

At least here he would be subject to questions(not abuse) and wouldn't get away with some of the patter he comes away with.

Diarra was a player i was quite excited about, annoyed he said it was done and we see nothing.

Really do think Parker is a Diarra replacement if he ever signs. Tomorrow.

But then on the other hand we had Woodgate and Gallas as 2 of our highest earners. I wouldn't mind us paying the Woodgate wage on Parker tbh. If he wants more than that however he can KUMB on his own face.

Yup, agreed.

I was just explaining why it pays (literally) to negotiate as hard as possible with these kind of figures. It makes no difference if he signs today or Wednesday and by then he might panic, say he'll drop 5k a week and we've suddenly got a quarter of a million quid saved to splash on, well, some new towels or something.

POTL has slowly become more and more of a joke over this window. Blue and Yellow was an absolute pisstake and saying the Diarra and Parker deals were done when they clearly weren't/aren't surely means that his rep has to have taken a battering over the last few months.

I've had it on good authority that Parker is actually on £92k a week, so it's no wonder Wet Spam are desperate to sell but it also backs up the ITK saying the deal is stalling due to salary

Yep. It would be nice tone able to ask a critical, but non-confrontational, question about Diarra.

Apart from getting people to kiss their ass and ply them with rep, I see no personal gain to any of the ITK's being WUMs. It's been said before some of these guys are given info and maybe they posted it prematurely or things change (which can happen right to the very end) I can see why things would be cryptic but only for players thats not been mentioned in the press, so the B&Y thing will always be a mystery (talking of Mystery he hasn't been on here for some time now)

I think we need to take responsibility for ourselves here because we all know how this ITK thing works, after all it's not the first window they've been around is it?

I've never looked forward to a Wednesday as I do for this Wednesday in my life!!!!

Wasnt Archie saying that 2 hours ago Parker was finalised? and that wages WERE the issue before 2 hours ago?

Or is he saying i don't know where it's at now but 2 hours ago Parker wasn't agreed.

Option B, I think.

Just to do some maths for a minute:

75k per week = 3.9 million per year.

A three year deal = 11.7 million pounds.

Plus a transfer fee of 5m = 16.7 million pounds.

Look at it from a businessman/Levy's perspective. Sign a good younger player on 40k a week on a five year deal for around 6million. It costs less and you can sell them on before the end of their contract, too.

EDIT: Okay, 75k might be wrong. But the principle stands.

And therein lies our transfer problem... Harry wants experienced players in their last few years who want a big pay day and Levy wants players who offer some return on the investment.

If Levy thinks Harry is off at the end off the season, of which there's a good chance, he's not going to sanction these deals and potentially be left with more deadwood with no sell on value.

This is why things are fucked, two different points of view, thing is Levy is right as Harry's strategy is very short term but as we can see all this leads to is... well nothing but dithering and a few loan/free transfers.

I'm sure money is there available to spend but I really dont think Levy wants Harry to spend it as he suspects he'll soon be off.

I dont think Harry deserves to be sacked but this situation is dyer, we'll tread water for another season with a manager and chairman with different ideas.

We need to back him or sack him and move on. At the moment we're doing neither.

He wouldn't answer. Rarely does. Rarely ever responds in other threads unless it's to shoot down rampant rumors. It's clear he's protected there and feels safe. Whatever. It gives people something to talk about.

As far as Parker goes, I'm happy enough I guess. Not blown away, but it's a squad game and we're already taking on injuries like we hit an iceberg. I'd like Harry to use 4231 with Parker and Diarra/Modric/Sandro/whoevers healthy, as the 2 in front of the defense. Not to angle the conversation into a discussion about scheme or Harry. Just where I'd like to see our latest itk guy to fit in.

I do Ryan , but surely he's prepared to take a bit of a compromise to get the move through.

I'm just sure that's what the agents are saying to every offer we make in 5k increments
