Really hope the biggie isn't coming to another prem club. Especially if it turns out to be Bale or Modric. I'd be totally gutted to see them lining up against us in the league. CL obviously is a different matter.

Isco also would really get me fed up. Love the guy. Such a pity he stayed at Madrid after agreeing terms.

As I have said it's all about the Summer, if we can get them done early it's a bonus, but these players are long term targets. They are being bought for the long term, being/not being eligible for this season's CL doesn't really come into the reasoning.

Long term players sounds good. Young hungry players wanting to prove themselves is a good start. Can't be oldies as they aren't long term first teamers.

If someone had told me a few weeks ago that we were going to buy anyone this month I'd have laughed at them. Moura is a brilliant bit of unexpected business and, personally, I'm very happy with him. Any more incomings than him would be surprising but very welcome, obviously.

Why do people think the player we lost is Bale or chicken boy? Didn't Herc come out in the first week or so of the window saying those two were no go as RM wanted to use any deal to get Kane and/Alli?

I donate £2.50 every month all year. Couldn’t live without this site. If I ever get a pay rise, my monthly donation will go up for sure.

This is the bit I like. We've obviously been keeping tabs on them and are trying to get them wrapped up for next season and the new stadium. Great stuff.

On another note, a big thanks to @Trix @Hercules @JJetset and all the others providing the ITK. Your inputs are invaluable and most of us accept that if it goes all wrong, it's not your fault.

Have just donated £50 to help keep this place going. Thanks all.

Just to shed some light (safely) on Trix’s info re Sess. If we offered 60m cash, and loan him back, and pay his wages etc, Fulham wouldn’t budge. Summer is another matter, but their owners are loaded, and carry a mentality, with a lot to be desired (opinion).

I stand firm by the view, his team cut a crap deal, loaded in Fulham’s favour. From what I know, he is very keen on us, and forget any other London club. He, and I agree does not want to go too far from home.

How would this affect the standing of Sessignon and any payments if he were to put in a transfer request?

I would donate, in fact I would have donated in the summer, but I can't see how to do it without creating a PayPal account. And I think having to hand over a 'phone number is a bit much, too. I won't use PayPal. The bastards have dicked me around too often in the past.

My slight concern with all these deals 'for the summer' is what happens in between.

We can argue the toss about whether Barkley would have been a good signing, but by not getting it sorted in the Summer it meant we ultimately lost out on him to a competitor.

I like that we're planning in advance, but we do need to actually get the deals tied up rather than hoping to sort them out in the Summer.

As for this window, interesting that we're trying to bring someone else in, but if it's reliant on the selling club finding a replacement, that doesn't leave a lot of time so I think Moura on his own is most likely now.

my concern is that it's just an excuse when talks break down

Martial, Lemar and Balde are annoyingly apt examples of this. Hopefully our improved financial clout with the new stadium will improve things.

My thoughts exactly. If Bordeaux won't resume talks until the summer that suggests they are happy to wait for those with deeper pockets to come around (and who can really blame them). Also with the World Cup it's going to be difficult to tie up deals early.

No club will sell a player who's of to the world cup.
His value could double by the end of the tournament.

Would he not need a work permit first?
I may be mistaken, but they couldn’t possibly compete the deal and have his registration in place without a work permit being awarded, so if he signs by midday on the working day before the match, he should be fine to be in the squad.

FWIW, we are trying for 2 for now. Moura announcement imminent :barefoot:
I legit believe a percentage of this website will spontaneously combust if this gets announced before Wednesday based on some of the building negativity. Smart of A&C to get donations in before they blow (y). Personally loving this journey and glad that I came into the window expecting nothing and thinking our needs are overblown, worse case I get what I expect and am cool with this. Best case, signings I legit believe can make an impact.
