from a playing side. We heard it in the past when we needed investment (except when we got the bale money) that we needed to get rid of the dead wood. Clearing the decks of the players MP doesnt want, needs countered with getting in the players that he wants. This craic of getting in a settled squad for the start of the season, never really comes to fruition.

The only plus side has been we have managed to get rid of the likes of Adebayor and Kaboul. It just would be nice to go into the season with a team, but at the minute we are really lacking for united in my opinion.

Don't be a partypooper. I'm excited about what it means to the club that players who won't play a second next season are partly/fully off the books. There won't be any more exciting news this summer until at leat these two are announced. Mind you it's not about expressing dislike towards these specific players, but about looking towards the immediate future.

You keep saying that, but where is the source for this info? You are the first and only one to suggest this. Personally, I'd be very careful with announcing "facts" about his contract, I suspect insanely few people actually know.

It's been a good window so far. Levy seems to have realised sometimes you need to cut your losses to move on unwanted players. Paulinho, Capoue, Ade, Chiriches, Holtby, Lennon, possibly Soldado ... all surplus to requirements and all a massive drain on the wage bill. We've also signed 3 new defenders, 2 of whom will strengthen the first XI. We also have made room for Alli and Pritchard to hopefully flourish as Bentaleb, Kane and (to a lesser degree) Mason have. If we do sign a CF who can play anywhere across the front three (Berahino?) and a CM to partner Bentaleb (Kramer or McCarthy) I think it will have been an excellent window given the fact we are building a £400M stadium and have a young squad with a manager who fosters team spirit and develops youth. Exciting time in my opinion. We cannot outspend the teams above us so this is the way forward.
