Theoretically selling Chadli, Pritchard and Njie, with only Nkoudou incoming, would that leave us a little light??
Same as selling Mason, Carroll and Bentaleb, with only Wanyama incoming, are we light there too?
Or is the emergence of Winks, Onomah etc expected to bridge the gap?

I personally think it is leaving us a bit short. We still need someone to compete/cover for Eriksen imo. Nkoudou isn't that player, he seems more of an alternative to Chadli and N'jie.

Borja Baston has a broken arm and not available for six months!!

From a Swansea fan forum;

It's all gone quiet on the Chadli front hasn't it?

Hopefully now that Ayew is on his way, we can get it done.

Badly needed I think

I would assume Swansea would have only let Ayew leave if they have had encouragement in their pursuit of Chadli

Didn't Chadli and N'Jie cover/compete with Eriksen on the left last season? Nkoudou hopefully just gives us better competition

One more signing and we'll be set imo. Keep the squad to a manageable size and keep all players involved. A few players will cover in different positions anyway. The squad is set and only if a top class player becomes available should we sign anyone else after Nkoudou.

I haven't got the stats in front of me, but I don't recall Eriksen missing many games. And the ones he did miss left a gaping hole in our team. I'm not confident that the current squad (even after signing Nkoudou ) could compensate for him being missing from the team for a length of time.

15 mill for Chadli I think is a good price - not too excessive for Swansea, but equally a good price for us. I think he is firmly behind at least three for any of the AM slots, competing with Son and N'Jie/GKN to be first rotation (and there are likely to be less chances if Poch plays Kane and Janssen together in games).

He was pretty poor as a striker, and it also allows more game time for Onomah and Edwards (and other young players). Good move all round

I think Nkoudou will cover/compete on the left, Eriksen also can cover for Alli in the middle (he was only really moved to the left because Alli did so well anyway). We have good variation to choose from all over. We can sell Chadli and loan N'jie but still be strong enough to compete on all fronts I think.

Swansea prob get 15 mill for Ashley Williams so that will pay for Chadli, I don't believe that we would leave it this late to replace eriksen if he was truly leaving. He is the heartbeat of our team, keeps everything ticking. No way would we have not have made plans to replace him well before start of the season had he indicated he was not going to sign a new contract

Unless we have made plans of course

£15m for Chadli is good money. If we talk about his value to us, he's not worth any more than that.

He's a fringe player for us and, despite having a good goalscoring record, he's just not the sort of player we can turn to to change a game, and that's what we need. We've evolved beyond the need for a player of his type and need something different.

For a mid table team like Swansea who play some decent football and (now) have a couple of good front men, he'll probably do pretty well and score so me goals.

£8m for Pritchard
£15m for Chadli
£3m for Fazio (if permanent)

£26m recouped

£17m for Janssen
£11m for Wanyama

£28m spent

Methinks the Net Spenders are going to be out in force come September 1st! :joyful:

Spend + Revenue matching isn't necessarily planned i dont think nor that relevant these days. Townsend added in here and we are in negative net spend.

£15m for Chaldi is pretty fair for everyone involved.

We're sensible but also opportunistic.
Putting a profit on the balance sheet might help for sponsorship/commerical partnership negotiations i guess

Er, no, sponsors want to see success on the pitch, so their name gets banded about as much as possible, nobody will see their name on the balance sheet will they. Why do you think Man Utd are so rich? It's because their success on the pitch attracts sponsors who make them rich, not the other way round.

If other clubs want to pay good money for players who are hardly going to feature for us and we can pick up better players who will strengthen us and keep their competition in the squad motivated - and as a byproduct, we make more than we layout - why would anyone have a problem with that? Stronger on the field and financially.

You forgot Nabil who will surely be making way and possibly fees for proper fringe teamers like Grant Ward. That said you haven't included all our incomings yet either.
