hertyid, first bit is about toby: What I heard this weekend doesn’t sound good, not sure we will see him in a Spurs shirt again. Whatever happens though I’m sure Levy will extract maximum dollar.
On a more positive note it appears DL agreed with MP to put over £100m of investment into the first team this summer.
The first team is the key word not squad fillers

£100m investment surely means £100m net spend, right? If so, very positive news

Still in complete denial that TA is going to go, he gives such a big impression he doesn’t want to leave with supportive posts on social media towards the end of the season, and will be a massive shame when he does. Irreplaceable. On another note investment is sounding positive and look forward to the first team getting a shake up!

No surprise about Toby so no reason for a meltdown. On the other hand, the investment info has me salivating into my Tizer

Second bit of ITK we have received on the Toby situation having some bad blood in the background. Important to remember the saga with him when we signed him and the reneging on the Southampton option to buy.

Exactly this. We profited handsomely from his willingness to join us over Saints. Now we make another profit and move on if bridges are well and truly scorched

Jan has stepped up in Toby's absence, and Sanchez has done tremendously for his age and will only get better. If we lose Toby, so be it. We just need to make sure we find a suitable replacement.

I love the sound of that investment but it does make me wonder how many players we will target for that money. In this day and age it could just be 2 players. If they're first team standard then I'm cool with that. Also, do we reckon that sum includes contract renewals?

I think you’re reading into it too much, “squad fillers” are still part of the first team

I agree but how many squad fillers do we need? This is with me thinking we already have Lamela, Moura, Wanyama, Davies (if Rose starts), Aurier etc. potentially on the bench. Especially when players purchased for the starting 11 could potentially push a player like Son for instance to that bench too.

I guess if Toby goes it's central defence primarily. Some depends on how Poch wants us to set up next season too I guess.
