Sorry, I know I'm being lazy, but any chance we can post ITK in this thread as well? It just makes it a little more seamless and easy to read.

So IF we make the CL, we are going to give ourselves 6 days to sign all the "CL" targets ?

We all know how long signings take, I find that very difficult to believe.

Unless we start negotiations before with all the players and then when we find out if we get CL or not then we know who wants to come to us. Then it gives us 6 days to finalise the deals. Probably wont be like this though

I don't go for the new ITK. I just can't see the two lists thing being true. Why would you draw up a list of inferior players just because you're in the Europa? Surely the idea is to make sure that you are in line for the top players whatever happens in Europe, so that you can still ainm for top four the following year?

this was my 1st thought when i read that, i could possibly see players saying to us theyd like to wait and see where we are, at which point we would move on to our next target, but I really hope we are chasing next level players regardless.

I definately cant see it affecting the wage budget, the club wouldnt let a potentially temporary income stream like CL revenue impact wages on contracts lasting 4 + years, the only thing thats gonna affect the wage structure is the stadium.

The problem with this though is that it leaves it a bit late for the selling clubs to get a replacement in. It would also leave a few clubs and players in limbo at a time when most would want their squads virtually finalised.

If a good offer comes in for one of the squad players we're happy to sell, then we're simply going to sell them. Also, we're not going to wait to sign top quality players. We've always tried to sign top quality players before we finished 4th, so that wont change.

I'm sure we'll want someone in to maybe help us qualify anyway. Someone like Forlan for example, seeing as he's not in the CL this season anyway.

The only delay could be from the players perspective, they may want to wait to see if we're in the CL. But we ourselves will not wait until the end of the window to see what competition we're in.

Daniel Levy will not sit at home with his feet up until Aug 25th, it just wont happen. He'll be actively seeking new arrivals every day without a doubt. It's not just about signing players for this season, it's also about the long term. We want the best possible players for the long term, regrdless whether we get CL football this season.

I agree.
