The limited funds comment interests me. I've been worrying about our transfer kitty. Not sure if we are just waiting for good values late, waiting to see if we make the group stages or we do have financial restraints. After all, Lewis did lose quite a bit oh Lehman Brothers. And after splashing cash to keep us up when he first came in (Keane, Defoe, Wilson), Harry has spent very little, and most of that was raiding Pompey, so we don't know if we gave them money or just erased debt. Interesting in the least that the season we finally make CL, we haven't spent a dime (as Sandro was wrapped up before we made it). It may come in waves. We may be unwilling to deal with a fucked up market. Or perhaps there is concern.

Add Crouch, Bassong, Kaboul and the two Kyles to Harrys buying list

From what I know/understand about the way the club is run, Joe Lewis's bank balance has very little to do with any of the clubs fiscal dealings - especially in the transfer market.

BMW would be nice.

That could tie in with the announcement a couple of days or so ago that BMW will be financing the Mini's (actually the Countryman) return to the World Rally Championship.

The British based "Prodrive" team will have the responsibility of preparing and developing the cars which will feature in selected rounds of the WRC during 2011. BMW own the Mini brand.

I'm a little concerned that the prolonged search for sponsors is hindering are progress with signings. There's only one Levy to go round.

As for the new ITK, the whole two lists thing seems implausible but you never know. As for the sponsor, the car sponsor most widely used in football, as far as I can recall, is Opel. However, seeing as Opel is not particularly widely seen in Britain, it could well be Vauxhall.

Although as any additional sponsor is for cup games rather than league, and the biggest exposure would (presumably) be in european games, Opel is not that far-fetched.

That's true actually. In that case, Opel or Vauxhall I reckon. You heard it here first (sort of).

I think the key to the lack of transfer activity could be down to
city's interest in milner. If they get their man, then expect to see
villa come calling for some of our castoffs, then inturn watch us
splash the cash for the players we're after.
The other reason for this could be teams can only register 25 'senior'
players ( and unlimited homegrown under 21's) and wouldn't
want a surplus of players bogging down their wage budget.
Anyway, levy has nearly always looked to sell before buying, unless
my memory serves me wrong.

Could be a long august as far as in's and out's go, IMO.

Totally agree. Surprised no-ones got O Harra yet either. West Ham or Newcastle. Will have to take a massive drop in fee for Hutton, anyone know what his wages are?

It's Kia, on a 7 year deal...they did start talking about 3 years but then realised 7 is more than 3.
