I've seen hardly any French football since the 90s, so I've little real idea how good Remy is or isn't. If AVB wants him, that's good enough for me, as he knows a damn sight more about football than I ever will. Sounded like Harry was interested too. My only concern would be if Levy's buying Remy against AVB's better judgement, but I've seen nothing to suggest that's the case.

Remy's appearance figures are reassuring as regards fears over his fitness, but we're right to exercise caution there - past fitness is no guarantee of future fitness and all that.

We do need another striker, or someone who can fill in that role convincingly. If Remy's the only available option within our price range, so be it - he's certainly got to be better than no striker. But I see the striker purchase going down to the wire tomorrow...

He can AND I think Levy must have the Togo - Gabon game fixed because we don't seem to be targeting strikers (if AVB is telling the truth).

Maybe Levy will hedge his bets and buy Aubemeyang. Allegedly a younger, cheaper, version of Remy, and since he plays for Gabon, that way we are guaranteed to have one of them free to play during the ACN...

Losing King, Modric and van der Vaart is truly sickening. Losing them all in the same window - now that is terrifying.
