Both would suit it well surely? Llorente could play the middle 1 of the 3 and Remy can play in any of the 3 positions. Remy in particular looks a good fit for it. Not sure we would pay such a large fee for Llorente when we are only playing 1 up top and already have Ade.

yeah I guess but in a 433 system you need the left n right of the main striker to be players like Willian, I cant see lorente or remy playing left or right of centre

why would we sign Lorente or Remy when AVB prefers a 433 system........?

I'm happy with what we have atm and if we were to get anyone in then i'd say Willian as he can provide cover in the wide positions or play in the hole.

Remy played on the RW or ST position in a 4-3-3 last year. Why wouldn't we? Ade can't play every single game.
Llorente wouldn't come to play second fiddle nor would Ade so that looks unlikely.

I think the fact we have given JD a new contract suggests we may be planning on a big spend on Moutinho instead of a big money striker, with LD possible coming in Jan, and Dembele can play upfront if Ade or JD aren't available..just a thought..;)
I don't think were ever going to get 2 strikers in.

Us getting Llorente or Carroll for that matter is as likely as a cow tricking a horse into getting stuck in a fence.

Wait....

I don´t want Andy Carroll, but it would be hilarious if we bought him for, lets say £10M, and he scored 20+ goals during the first season... :D

Signing a big oaf of a striker who can't score at the moment could be the best thing that happens to our club? WTF!?

Firstly he's not the type of striker that AVB likes, he has no technical proficiency, he doesn't help link up play and all he's good for is being a target for long-balls. So, unless you want us to revert to hoofing it at every opportunity, wanting Carroll is purely because you want to line your pockets at the expense of our club's progress.

you're being a bit of a tosser, and ignoring my final point: If we sign him, it's cos the manager wants him.

how am I being detrimental to anyone other than myself by betting on a scenario?

So we're a feeder club for Madrid. Brilliant.

RE: Carroll. If it's a loan it's not the end of the world, he knows where the goal is and is a good option to have. If it's permanent...slightly different story.

He knows where the goal is, he just doesn't know where the ball is supposed to go!

Then AVB would be an idiot, if Rodgers can see that Carroll does not work then AVB can too (he's already said no to him publicly also). So because of that if we sign him then Levy has gone over AVB's head and that is very bad news for our club. So really your final point isn't all that accurate.

If you try to retort with a comment about AVB not always being honest in the media, you'd be wide of the mark as AVB has only been this definitive with Carroll, everyone else has been vague or not wholly certain.

If Liverpool are dependent on selling Caroll before buying Llorente, maybe Levy is pulling a "N'gog"?

"Yesss, sure Mr Bindipper, we would like to buy Caroll for an amount equal to Llorentes price, just one moment. Maybe two moments. Still buying him, one moment more!
...
Sorry, no deal..."

Re Ceballos. He's technically really good, but tiny and has failed to break into our development / Next Gen teams on a regular basis. Our development squad is also stacked with small, technically gifted, AMs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ceballos is homesick, so going back to a Spanish club would make sense. But RM? He's too old for their Academy and a Barca graduate.

It's a really strange one.

We so desperately need a back up striker I almost don't care who we get. I would accept Andy Carroll aslong as he wasn't our record signing. But in reality there are so many better players out there for the same sort of cash.

He would be some way down my list of options. Better than not signing anyone, but really don't like the thought of it.
If us signing Carroll allowed Liverpool to sign Llorente, I would seriously have to question what is going on.

We could then sell him on for a huge fee to some gullible club like say... Liverpool..??
