Am I the only one who'd choose to not sell VDV even if it means we miss out on Moutinho? I'd love to have both, and I know what I want counts for fuck all, but I think losing Modric, King and VDV in one window is too much change for my liking. The replacements could all be awesome but I still think it's being too radical.

It`s a lot to lose in one go, No denying that, Though if rumours about leaving for family is true then we as people have to respect that and accept we have made a decent return on him (assuming as it`s Levy), For me and most here he will be regarded as a spurs icon and legend...Hope of course it is not true!

With talk of Moutinho, Lloris and Llorente I think SC may need to take a very deep breath and just reel in those expectations slightly. That would be over 50m of spending and I don't see that happening. And as for llorente, I'd imagine it's far too late in the window to do a deal of that nature.

I may just be saying that to stop myself getting too excited though...

He's 27 not 37!

Anyone who wouldn't want Llorente at Spurs really need to take a good long look at themselves - he is a class act and a fantastic fit for our side.

If it's feasible, i'd move heaven and Earth to get him!

It's just business mate. In 2 years he'll be pushing 30 and his value will have dropped considerably. Damiao could be worth twice what we buy him for in 2 years. I agree that he's class, but we all know what Levy is like by now and I think that's how he would view this situation. He's probably waiting for Damiao in Jan.

4 yr deal = 31 = no resale

Fuck resale value - If he gets us Champions League in those years then he's more than covered the outlay.

Honestly, leave the finances to the board - from a playing point of view, we will not get a better opportunity to sign a forward of Llorente's ilk.

pedro pinto on TS now - says moutinho deal has a 70% chance of concluding. £20-25million probably.

I really hope this is one of those ones where we sign a player to a longer deal then sell them straight away.
Hmmm, we have been acting like we want to keep JD, AVB was bigging him up, and we do know there is interest. All this 'we don't need another striker' bull may all be part of the cunning plan. Get top dollar for JD pretending were having our arm twisted off then swoop and sign up whoever it is we needed the cash for... Llore... I dare not say it.

Would love Llorente but surely If Levy was spending that sort of cash he would go for LD for sell on value

Still think we should make a cheeky bid for Berba. I'd have him back. Levy on the other hand..

Well if Rafa is off, it will be very sad. I think he was a brilliant addition while he was here. And I'm glad we had the time. I had a Holland jersey with his name back from his HSV days. Love the guy.

But do we give him "legend" status considering we lost King this year, who could define the term? Maybe. I mean we gave it to Ginola for 3 years, but let's be honest.....he's the reason there is so much gay talk on here today ;)

Defoe new contract

Maybe we can sell him for north of £10m now he has a longer deal, it would fund more players :cautious:

Signing Defoe on a new contract is great news. Even if we sign another forward I hope we keep him until January. We need depth and despite his limited game he still scores goals.

I'd like to think we'll sign a wide striker who can play centre forward (Remy or Sturridge are probably the most realistic although would love Mueller) and then sign Leandro in Jan, sell Defoe for a tidy amount in the new year.

I'm not disagreeing. We all know Levy and do you think judging by his past transfer market behaviour he is likely to splash a fee that size for a player with no resale?
