GOT IT!

Jehovah who was pleased with Abel in the bible (Cain and Abel)

Abel has an Italian derivative, which is.....

Belotti - Andrea Belotti

We have had Italian links, he is a striker, and I don't believe we have been linked with him. Ticks all the boxes. BOOM!

What do I win?

Jehovah =

'"Jehovah" was popularized in the English-speaking world by William Tyndale'

Inaki Williams.

Also in my searches of famous sports people linked to religion I noticed that both the Williams sisters are Jehovahs witnesses. Most likely not of help I am dreadful at cryptics and have never ever helped with any of them but hey ho

Edit - now I see Scotspur above mentioned as well

Another name for Jehova is Joshua........

So had Josh King not just signed a new deal then I would have gone for him! Any other Joshua players?

Joshua Brenet - quick, two-footed fullback, twenty-one years old, plays for PSV.

Ok my final guess...

Jehovah is name said to Moses...

Moses -- Arabic name is Musa or Moussa -- Moussa Dembele (Celtic)

He does not (edit: DID not) have a player transfer thread as far as I can see so this indeed could be possibility.

Rather than 'J done' (Jadon) it's 'J over' (Jehovah)? Sancho has fallen through?

Jesus corona. We have had scouts at a fair few Porto games obviously looking at the right back originally, how ever they may have stumbled across Jesus. He's a wing forward and South American

Jehova = Yahweh = U2
Jehova = Joshua = Joshua Tree = U2

Coincidentally, I just got a call from Poch, and he said "We want to sign you, too!"
