not ITK here, someone I respect personaly, been told by his friend, who knows Luka Modric, Modric told him that Man Ubtied his favourite destination but Levy told him he won't sell him to EPL, and he said that he never said 'I want to play for Madrid' , but asked to decided between Madrid & PSG. According to this source, his father had a commercial relations with Spurs, and Luka himself meet him several times.

Luuk de Jong has just signed for a German side! And very un proven. Dembele would be a quality signing and relatively cheap. We need 2 strikers otherwise we aren't going to be near the top 4. We need to start making some moves. I think dzeko would be an excellent addition if city would do business with us again!

doubt it, it's hardly stopped Chavski getting the cheque book out this summer

Ade + Roque Santa Cruz = £300k pw + Tevez £250k pw + Dzeko £150k pw = £700k pw = £35m pa

Think the Man City high wages (much higher than even Chelsea) are coming hom to roost

Bollocks! There go another 4 or 5 of our targets!
Could be. But on the other hand when the high rollers comes in and spread the money the players also get expectations to perform according to transfer fee and the weekly pay. Two of which comes to mind is Torres and Caroll. IMO we should do smart tranfers and build for the future and get players that are hungry for success.

MAN CITY won't be buying 5 players at the top of their game, they need signings for the future. We need players for now! I don't think their targets will be 5 that we are after!

Dembele is not a striker at all, attacking midfielder yes not a stroker, look at his record in goals scored its poor if you were to use him as striker so diagree with you there mate

2006–2010AZGames : 118Goals : 24 - Average of 0.2 goals per game
2010– PresentFulham Games : 60Goals : 5 - Average 0.08 per game

That is a p*ss poor goal return - before anyone points out modric im not comparing him to modders, just pointing out something to fans that think he would make a good striker -

I wasn't talking about signing dembele as a striker! A creative option in midfield. We need 2 number 9s. I was making reference to the previous post re dembele and de Jong!

but what about as a stroker? ;)

Seriously need to put the Modric and Adebayor deals to bed this week. Once we've got past these obstacles we can get a better idea of what shape we're in and what we can afford.

I'm not expecting a huge amount but if we can get 1 more striker in addition to Ade and a Modric replacement plus a pacey player who can play on either side, I'd say we were in pretty good shape. lloris would be a massive bonus too.

Dembele is far more suited to CM, he's very similar to Modric, both look better from deep, both comfortable in any part of the field, both can receive possession in tight areas, both shit at shooting and both capable of controlling the tempo.

Belgium have used Dembele to perfection, they utilise him as a CM, the game opens up in-front of him and he prefers being the creator for much more gifted finishers i.e Sigurdsson/VDV/Bale.

Cheaper option, two years PL experience, coming into his prime, physically imposing and fits into AVB's football philosophy.

I agree. He's a tenacious runner too (though with Parker and/or Sandro with him he may have more creative freedom) and a better defender than Modric. His strength and defending are pretty underrated IMO; he gets a lot of interceptions.

Plus he very, very, very rarely loses the ball. A lot like Luka. I think we'd be fools not to at least consider him. He speaks English (I think) and he's big friends with Vertonghen as they play together for Belgium. His lovely dribbling fits into our style too. The issue is, I don't think Jol wants to sell so he won't come cheap.
