There you go, they are already trying to make us believe he is able to play for the first team and we don't need any other strikers....!

Did you know there is an Area 43. I'm not kidding. Ask yourself, why do they let us talk about Area 51, but nobody talks about Area 43. What kind of freaky shit is the Illuminati hiding from us there? My guess is a Bigfoot that can teleport and has laser for a cock. Can you prove that Osama wasn't killed by a laser dicked Bigfoot? No, you can't! That thing gets out, we're doomed. You should start storing jugs of your piss in the basement as Superfoot, as it is called, will spare your life for human urine. It's how he gets drunk and it gives him confidence when talking to Sexyfoot, his female counterpart.

Conspiracies.......entertaining the masses for eons.

And I apologize for my own conspiracy laden outburst two days ago. We all need to vent (and I came to terms with Sahin not coming). I got battered with some neg rep, but never has neg rep been so fucking deserved, as I was being a whingy bitch :D

When does our trip to the States finish? Right now I can't see anyone signing until it's over.

....but maybe the money will not multi-task so focus on what is essential first (2 strikers), then look at the 'nice to haves'

Where has all our money gone? We've sold Pav, sold Crouch, I believe Crouch was the last CF we've bought and that was three seasons ago.

We've sold plenty of players over the last three seasons, we've consistently finished well in the league, good cups runs, CL revenue, potential 33m coming in from the Modric transfer, so I expect us to afford a few players this summer. We need it IMO.

2x CF
Modric replacement.
GK
Wing Cover

The revenue we've generated, the Modric fee, selling our dead wood should help us achieve our goals.

We already account for wages every season, getting rid of the dead wood would solve such an issue and I doubt the likes of Saha would cost big wages. Plus we've hardly brought anyone into the club over the last three seasons.

We have one recognised striker at the club, I doubt wages is stopping us from buying anyone.

Agreed we need 2 strikers and Modric relacement - GK ideally this TW as otherwise its a must next summer and prices may go up if its seen to be essential we need a GK then. Wing cover is 'nice to have'

Where has money gone ? If you look at last few sets of published accounts, profits are tiny because of big wages and big squad, so cash generation from there is not large.

Strikers cost big money - not just on fees but wages (£120k pw = £6m pa so a 3 year contract £18m commitment without a fee - then times two.....

Don't forget a £35m training ground - there is only one pot of money so its come from the same pot as the players - but there should be long term returns from that.

Sure, money to spend but not Man City or Chelsea money.

That's exactly what I wrote earlier!

Wages - they are so high for all clubs that nobody makes a profit = no cash generation

Check out TH last few sets of accounts. Then read an educated blogger like the Swiss Rambler. All the clubs have no cash flow due to high wages

Ideally yes, but..... think it will at best be a GK or wing cover (and might be neither) but the big ticket item is strikers (especially on wages)....and everyone agrees we need two of them (especially if Defoe goes)

People have mentioned us struggling in terms of wages ect. But we've just sacked our manager, bought in a new manager with a new coaching staff, this sends out the wrong signals for me. Also making noises about being interested in Moutinho, a player who had a 30m transfer clause.

Modric - 33m plus?
Crouch - 10m?
Pav - 10m?
Pienaar - 4.5m?
Bassong - 4m?
Bentley - 3.5m?
JJ - 3.5m?
Defoe - 10m?

Ade - 5m?
Dembele - 8m - 12m?
Lloris - 12m?
CF - who else have we been linked with? Are we going for a younger talent, or someone like Llorente?
Remy/A Johnson - 12m - 15m

I don't believe Levy will offer anyone beyond 80k a week, strikers only cost big money if they have an ego. We buy young talents, who could potentially become top, top player i.e Modric. Would Levy cripple our wage bill if it meant not being able to afford more than one striker?

Regarding our books, we are not a public listed company anymore so I wouldn't be able to make a realistic assumption on what we can, and can't afford. But if Levy sacked Harry because he didn't believe he could take us to the next level, than he's in dreamland if he believes AVB can lead us to fourth without investment into the first 11.

The sad truth is that we've only just about been breaking even, notwithstanding our receipts from player sales over the past few windows.

Mind you, the surplus has been considerably larger in the last couple of windows and I don't think these would have been covered in the last set of results so it may be that we have some cash lying about.

When your wages go up by over £25 million in one season it's always going to be difficult to find the sums to stump up big transfer fees though, without outside investment at least.

Well we do have a fancy new training facility. I know transfer funds are seperate but I expect that has played a factor in our spending.

Although there have also been reports suggesting we've bid silly money on the likes of Rossi and Aguero in the past too. How true they are i'm not sure, but I always get the impression that if the right player is available then the money will be made available. It's really the wages that seem to put the big stars off, not to mention getting blown out of the water by the likes of Man City and Chelsea.
