Its been a bit of a funny window already. Started off like a flash with optimism all over the shop, talks of 150m spends etc. Now all the players threads are either outgoings, or players we've been told we have practically no chance of signing such as Bale/Savic, and others that are looking more unlikely Martial/Sessegnon/De Ligt. Aside from these the other names are rather underwhelming.

lets hope we get these contracts done soon

So basically a typical Tottenham window.

Re Danny Rose; he is not interested in a move to Everton. Knowing what a strange world this is, I know strange things happens. I don’t know if the club will push him. But he has no desire to go there

That's about as obvious as saying Eriksen isn't interested in a move to Barnsley.

Ta for the info though.

If being linked to Everton is enough of a wake up call to make amends and come back strong next season I'll be happy with that. Hit the form of the season before last and we have a quality LB.

Funny that. Swings and roundabouts.

Hope we keep him. We need good cover on all positions, and I don't see who we can buy as a replacement at a decent price.

Matches what I have heard. He doesn’t want to leave. If the club don’t push him out then hopefully he hits the top form of 15/16 and 16/17. If he does we have the best LB in the league by a mile...

Only to release an inflammatory interview a couple of days before our next campaign, about how he has to google the players we are signing because of his poor memory due to his age, and the cycle continues. ?

will be interesting to see after what happened with Rose if he gets offered a new contract. if he doesn't he will either have to put the effort and passion to show he deserves 1, or will be told he won't be offered and in his best interest will be to move on if he wants the money.

I expect we will know by 9th August

The question of whether the club would actually push Rose out must depend on us definitely getting a replacement - I don’t think Poch will start the season with only one left back...

Ah so when he said he’d be open to moving up north and wanted a club that showed ambition in the transfer market what he really meant was “I want to join a money club to easily get a trophy so I don’t feel like my career is such a failure”.

Ive never been that convinced he would leave. Why create extra work for ourselves by swapping in a left back when there so many other transfers to do beforehand that are more important.

Poch appears very pragmatic when it comes to ensuring adequate cover in fullback positions.

Yes it's almost as if people got carried away and overpromised with talk of 150million spend + cash generated from sales before it was realistically possible to know that's how it would pan out Now things have naturally developed, agents, clubs and players may have changed their minds, prices may have changed, other clubs may have got involved, and those predictions have been revised to a more conservative level. Just goes to show, until it's done reserve a hefty portion of salt.
