2nd post.. but am I right in saying that deals could still be completed.. just not announced yet?

Fulham just announced a signing, that had no build up or anything beforehand?

Torres was a disgrace last season, B_C. He sulked until he got his move and then forgot how to play when he did. I'm not entertaining the comparison.

I hold your opinions in very high esteem but Crouch couldn't hold his bloody trousers up.

Totally agree...........I am ecstatic to see the back of Crouch and I am flabbergasted by his opinion of Crouch...............I suppose everyone has an Achille's Heel.

I think the perks of living in the USA is when one team dissapoints you...there is always another sport ready to lift you up. Go Redskins. All u guys have is rugby...and tennis.

Dead wood that costs thousands of pounds a week and can't play because of the 25 man limit is no good at all.

Exactomundo, all the players we've got rid of are the ones that get moaned about the most too

I'll come in and I'm as pissed off as most.

So some things were passed to me didn't happen, doesn't mean it wasn't being tried. I'll deal with whatever crap you throw, don't care.

But as a ST I have questions as everyone does

- 14m in three years spent
- Earnt over 60m in CL, profit and transfers in 18 months
- Still waiting for Berb replacement
- Unfit CB's and 3 CF's only
- Many other things

It seems that all the stuff about Team Harry and Team Levy is going to come true, DL won't spend on dead duck manager, dead duck manager didn't want DL signings (like today!). That's one. Two, the ground is on the way, we need to pay for it. Three ENIC are getting ready to sell?

Again, I'm sorry, take your pop shots, not fussed, seemed on the money on other stuff Hutton, Bents, Wilson etc, Stuck my bollocks on Diarra and stupidliy Kaka, but what cam I do? Wait until the OS posts it!? No inpass it on. Oh well.

Shut happens and the last two hours have been shit

Thanks for all the info dude, hopefully you'll have more in Jan, please ignore all the haters.

Hmmm...I'm trying to figure out whether the absence of Modric is on purpose or not, SS. Was it?

Stop talking sense, you.

Parker and Sandro or Huddlestone in front of Dawson and Kaboul (occasionally King, Gallas and Bassong). Permutations of Bale, Kranjcar, Lennon, Livermore, VdV in front of them, Adebayor up front.

I can live with that, and I could also live with a plain-vanilla 4-4-2 with Adebayor and Defoe up front.

Repped. Great post.

look at it this way

Out : Hutton In : Walker - we take a risk in playing youth
Out : Jenas In : Livermore - Again we promote youth
Out : Palacios : In Parker - We sign writers player of the year and add some experience a winner and some grit and a true box to box player good signing!.
Out : Bentley : In Iago Falque & Townsend!- We try to play youth again!
Out : Keane & Crouch In : Adebayor - Great Upgrade!

So the club get rid of everyone we all wanted shot at and still get slated when we finally promote youth!.

GK'S - 3
Friedel,Gomes,Cudicini
Fine got one class keeper on his day and one for when his howlers happen we have cover!

Right Backs - 2
Corluka,Walker *Kaboul*
We now have a mix of Pace and Youth with clever and quality!

Centre Backs 5
Gallas,King,Bassong,Dawson,Kaboul, *Walker,Corluka,Huddlestone*

Okay might have needed one player but fine get on with it!

Left Back 2
Ekotto,Rose *Bale*
Enough cover not so sure about what will happen when BAE goes to AFC

Right Midfield 3
Lennon,Iago Falque,Townsend *Kranjcar,Modric,Bale,Giovani,Walker,Pienaar,VDV*
3 plus 7 that can cover

Defensive Midfield 2
Sandro,Huddlestone *Parker*
2 Plus 1 for cover

Centre Midfield 3
Modric,Parker,Livermore *Sandro,Huddlestone,Falque,Corluka,Kaboul,Pienaar*
3 plus 6 for cover
Attacking Midfield 2
Van Der Vaart,Kranjcar,*Modric,Pienaar,Falque,Lennon,Bale, Giovani*
2 plus 6 for cover

Left Midfield 1
Bale *Lennon,Kranjcar,Giovani,Pienaar,Falque,VDV,*
1 plus 6 for cover

Strikers 3
Adebayor,Pavulychenko,Defoe*Giovani,VDV*
Plenty Enough as we norm play 1 up top!

Plus some youth like Coulibally,Kane,Carroll,Nicholson,

we now have enough for our 25 man squad and its plenty strong enough so stop the fucking bitching and get behind our boys

You wanted a uber striker we got one you wanted a new cm we got one you wanted a centre back we didnt get one woopdy doo bassong was part of the team that finished 4th!

Spurs 1 5 Man City...enough said,we are going to struggle this season. Lennon and Vdv carrying injuries..The two centre backs I have confidence in are injured,we are lacking big style, still shocked at the lack of incomings

totally agree and above all that where is the real hunger in that side!?

i dont see any drive or real desire to do well. im sorry.

we are relying on alot of luck to stay injury free especially in league. alot of luck. and even at moment we have some real strength and backbone out in king gallas sandro .

harry looked kanckered and so pissed off and whether people on here like him or not it will be up to harry to really get into players and coach them to get best out of them

harry been banging on about the whole place needing freshening up and giving place a lift. the answer is no on in.. thats just not good at all

I really think Parker will be the catalist to our attack. Walker will be like a new signing, and if we have 2 defensive midfielders we'll have one of them to cover on that side when he gets forward. I fancy Modric to move forward a bit and do more of his work closer to the opposition penalty box.

I think the 4-2-3-1 is the way forward for us now. Adebayor is the perfect fit for that system. Sure a better backup for him would have been great but those type of players are tough to get. I'd like to think we'll get Leandro in January anyway because it was always bound to be on Internacionals terms that one (when their season is over).

With Sandro and Parker in centre midfield we'll be a lot more solid at the back too. Less exposure for the 2 centre backs, so even if we're short and need Bassong to come in I think he'll do ok. We may renew our interest for Cahill in Jan too with only 6mths on his contract. That would be a great mid-season boost if it happens.

Not a great window but a very good one imo. The key was keeping our star players and adding one top class striker. The Parker signing will add what has been missing since Palacios went off the boil. I'm excited about the young prospects too this season, including the new blood we have in now. They could do a good job in the Europa and allow the senior players to rest for the League games.

I fancy us to really push for top 4 again this season. I think the Champs League really took it out of us last season. We will need to get 2 or 3 more quality players in for Champs League if we make it, but for this season I think we're good enough. It will be close between us, Arsenal and Liverpool but we're capable of another great season.

I just feel if you let it ride, till the last moment, you will be held to ransom, as those we are trying to buy from know the position we are in and play to that. Thats exactly what happened with Bolton.

in an ideal world you are right. but if we were to sign Cahill earlier in the window, we would have an extra player in an already large squad. what does that do when trying to move on some of our players? that tells other clubs that we need to move players on and so they will then come in and bid low! we CANNOT do that as we do not have a sugar daddy as i said. Man City are obviously a perfect example of this. They have brought in their players early and are now loaning players at but paying for much of their wages just to shift them!

We are a well run club and so unfortunately we cant get all these deals done early. Hopefully now we have a much smaller squad, it should put us in a better position in January.

Its also worth noticing - Levy clearly said in a statement at the end of last season that this season we would be clearing a lot of dead wood, bringing on the youth players and buying the odd player where we felt it would improve us. Whatever you throw at him, he has been true to his word. To many have got over excited about ITK that hasnt panned out.

The Journo is the one that puzzled me. He was so sure, so sure that his info lost some credibility with me a while back........they weren't even near, at least the rest were pretty close.
Clearly has very good contacts at Villa/in the Midlands, but not so good in Germany.

Donna Cullen was on Sky Sports weeks ago while the team were in South Africa and when asked about signings said we had spent a lot of money in recent years improving the squad but Daniel Levy was always looking to improve it. Didn't read much into it at the time but was clearly true. Daniel Levy has proved he will spend money on the right player in the past: ie. someone who is young, and has the ability to become worth much more and will not want astronomical wages. Best example was Modric. This summer it was clearly Mata, and that didn't happen. As for showing Modric our ambition, whoever officially said that? And anyway, for me keeping him is ambitious enough because there is no one we could have signed, whether he stayed or left, who would have been as good as a fully fit and focused Modric.
