This is what happens when people get into needless debates. Can people just accept any ITK that comes our way and be happy people choose to share whatever info they have. If you don't like the info then go chat about it on the player thread.

I don’t think anyone has criticised any of the ITK posters, or questioned any sources etc. All I can see are people (rightly or wrongly) being disappointed with the perceived lack of activity. Surely when someone posts opinion that’s up for discussion isn’t it?

Ive no issue with that - the issue is that this is the wrong thread to do it imo - go take the RB stuff to the RB thread and talk about it - when discussions take place in the ITK thread it often results in problems.

No, it's what happens when precious people with fragile egos get into debates. If somebody disagrees with me, I don't care. I don't stomp my feet and say, "I'm going to take my ball and go home".

People weren't arguing against ITK, they were arguing against opinions.

I think I'll wait before I make an informed opinion regarding Barkley not joining up.

What I would like to add...

Am I wrong to think that Spurs are not so naive that they'd not have looked at all possible scenarios regarding Barkley.

Would the club not have considered his injury, the impact it may of caused concerning his future ability to perform.

One would think that alternatives would have been looked at in case Barkley had a further injury setback.

Yes he might have been Poch's first choice, but what's to say info we are not privy to has emerged regarding his injury.

I'd be more alarmed if the club didn't have alternative targets as opposed to putting all our eggs into one basket on a player who may come good after serious injury and long term lay off.

Maybe many are aggrieved based on past transfer failings, I get that. But I do believe there is a little more to consider regarding this transfer as opposed to it simply being Levy failing to back Poch.

If our whole future depended on Ross Barkley, I'd suggest we're fecked in any case. That's not a dig at Barkley, just my opinion that common sense would suggest there should be others out there to fill the remit.

Might cost more, maybe less, but I'm sure we would have other targets lined up.

Poch is clearly playing Sissoko because we have zero other options. If Poch had a choice between Barkley or Sissoko playing that role last night, he would choose Barkley all day long. Sissoko was beyond atrocious last night. If Poch genuinely thinks Sissoko is worth a place In the side, well then serious questions have to be asked of Poch's blind spot. It's the biggest mystery at Spurs currently. Just what does Poch see in Sissoko?

Unbelievable that Poch and Levy rate ugly brawn over ball playing ability. But I don't think Poch does. We should have signed RB this Jan. He immediately offers more to us than Sissoko and could take his place in the side. We then sell Sissoko in the summer. Our squad and team is instantly improved.

No Other options? Winks and Dembele were sat on the bench as was llorente and Lamela. Why do we need two strong midfielders in there when the opposition don't leave their own half? All Sissokho did was get in the way and take up precious space around the edge of their box. you are right to complain about Sissokho but to say we don't have options is madness. Either this is the first real mistake I have seen Poch make or he is being told to play Sissokho in the hopes of raising his sell on value because there is no logical reason for him being on the pitch last night especially after half time when he was abysmal in the first half and their only two breaks of that half came from him giving the ball away in front of Vertonghen and Sanchez.

I agree with you and Poch picking Sissoko last night was madness. I assume Lamela didn't play because he's still coming back from injury and played only 48 hrs before.

But the point in hand to discuss here is...Barkley offers an immediate upgrade on Sissoko and is cheaper and is much better yet Spurs are letting him go to a direct rival. I just can't understand it. We are missing out on an opportunity to significantly strengthen midseason. It's unacceptable.

I think the increased talk of new contracts since the turn of the year is pretty telling in terms of our transfer plans this month. Gonna be a tumbleweed window...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Saha and Nelson.

This Barkley situation was always panning out like this. Once Levy has to do a risk assessment, sees a contract running down and perceives us as having leverage he starts salivating. If only there wasn't another club interested and the player was happy to put his career on hold while Levy does his transfer dance we'd be ok.

I'm just surprised people are surprised by this.

To be honest I think both did ok. For sure better then we all thought they would.

And other thing is that in that Saha/Nelson transfer window we strenght the squad. Ok, they were here just 6 months or something like that but we needed to add players and we did. We can argue about quality but we did.

Now we won't do that cause everything we do is plan for the future when TOP4 is running away now. And I'm afraid that saving money and (potentially) playing next season without CL can do more damage than spending now.

If we only have money in the pot for new signings OR securing new contracts for the likes of Harry and Toby etc then I would much prefer the latter and strengthen in the new season.

Realistically, we aren't gonna win the league this year. We aren't gonna win the champions league. The most we have is the FA Cup. So is it really worth going out and spending a ton of cash on new players at this point and losing some of our key players in the summer who have got pissed off that we haven't offered them new contracts.

Also... January is a notoriously difficult window to bring any world class players in. Teams do not want to sell their best players mid-season.

Listen up!!!

STOP slagging off the club regarding RB! I wanted it to happen. There is more than one reason (medical) we pulled out. Sissoko WAS Poch’s signing! End of!

I am fully confident that Poch will be backed 100%! Why? Because if they don’t you know the consequences. I would strongly advise everyone to stop knocking Josh, before we loose him. He has access to this forum through his friends. He is not on it, but hears. If we are not careful he will go.

I will not divulge beyond what I have done who our targets are, or who is in the bag. 2 definitely are. If names come out in media etc, I may rethink that.

Keep friggin backing Tripps over KWP, if you are mad-hint.

Assuming the player from Watford is Richarlison and not a re-signing of Gomes/Kaboul, I'd be a little bit underwhelmed. He's got potential, but not exactly a Salah type, is he. Be interesting to see what his price tag is.

Tbh salah wasn't a salah type till he started scoring lots of goals for liverpool. Can't remember anyone in the summer ranting about him.

He did have a great record in Italy but I agree that no one really saw him scoring that many goals.

I think the reaction to RB on here is amusing to say the least. Its obvious we have pulled out for good reasons. I've had my doubts since the injury as well and I am not surprised. Lighten up you lot.
