can't really score? what a load of b*ll*cks. 17 goals last season says different. 46 in 104 for goons, 15 in 34 for city.

Ade has to (or chooses to) come deep - perhaps this is because we're lacking the creative midfielders we sold in the summer?

Stats doesnt exactly reflect the whole story. Ade is not exactly a prolific finish. Then amount of chances we created for him were immense. He should have a way better record base on what we've created for him

so seventeen goals last year wasn't a good enough return, in his first season with us? we finished fourth didn't we. All seemed fine to me.

this year he's been injured and played few matches for whatever reason. You said: "he doesn't really score goals" which is balls.

now you're saying he doesn't finish enough chances, which is a different point, because you've realised you were talking b*ll*cks!

Totally agree, they would both benefit from a creative midfielder that doesn't run out of ideas 30 yards from goal. Still think cover is required for them though.

3rd July Villas Boas,
4th July Sigurdsson,
12th July (although we knew on the 8th, at least) Vertonghen

Remind anyone of anything.... er this week?

We all got excited and thought that Ade/Lloris/Moutinho whoever would be announced tout suite and, er... it didn't happen

Then we waited ages to er.... buy Ade (21st August), sell Modric (27th August), buy Dembele (29th August), Dempsey (31st August), Lloris (31st August), sell VDV (31st August).

I'm predicting it'll go quite quiet now. The Holtby and Fryers transfers look like ones we've had set up for months (Fryers) or have been working hard on (Holtby). Maybe Levy also knows that a couple of early signings is fan appeasing too... And he loves deadline day, he'll not leave it with nothing to do, it's just not him.

I think that we all shall take these late tw***s from the ITKers (read: JJ, A*****d etc.) featured in the spotlight in the summerwindow with a great "pinch of salt". I got the feeling that (some of them at least) they are missing the attention and with some dubious tw***s try to get back the attention.

Actually I would argue it is f**k all to do with the lack of creativity and everything to do with the fact that he is being asked to play as a second striker with Defoe playing off his shoulder. If you go back and watch our last few games Ade has got into some fantastic positions but hasn't been found because Defoe, Bale and Walker have all decided to shoot. Ade is not going to score many goals as a support striker as he is not going to find himself in the positions to score goals too often, and when our players elect to shoot rather than find him it is only going to compound this.

Lol i love adebayor, dont be mistaken, but llorente is clearly a better player and damiao has a much high ceiling. And yes althoug his tally is pretty good, i dont think hes a good finisher and scores enough goals. Put rvp in front and think how many goes he'll score? Thats a striker. As muh as i love ade's general Play, u cant deny that he lacks that natural scoring ability.

And i think you've made a great point to why avb is selling him. He'd been injured most of the season, rarely played, yet look where we are. As much as u hate it this is the exact reason why avb thinks hes not indispensable.

@robbealparis: Moussa Sissoko to Spurs in June. Great signing. They will be title contenders next season. #thfc

No idea on this source. Anyone seen stuff from him before?

it hasn't - they ruled against it this week: it's unconstitutional - but the french PM still wants to push it through.

the french clubs don't care, it's their players who will get hit by any eventual increase.

I'm sure the French clubs will care eventually, because they'll have no chance in competing with the wages on offer in other, potentially lesser, leagues. That move will ruin French domestic football imo, although I'm sure PSG would cope!

let's not get off on the wrong foot here;

1. does ANY striker score "enough" goals? I'd love to see a player in lilywhite net 50+ in the league...

2. I do love what ade brings to the table when compared to, lets say: Keane. defoe. Rasiak. Crouch. Pav. In fact, all our strikers in the last decade minus Berbs.

3. I don't love ade enough to moan about AVB wanting rid.

**which we don't actually know as fact but is being suggested by some.**

4. I DO LOVE AVB, I DO LOVE TOTTENHAM and I expect the manager to be backed 100% in his plan for the future.

you're correct of course, but clubs will find their way around it - if it ever actually happens.

Be a hell of a risk to replace adebayor with leandro as he is unproven in the prem, by all means we should sign him but not at the expense of adebayor.

As for llorente, that just isn't going to happen.
