It's pretty quiet on the ITK front isn't? I personally don't.

- The noise around CBs has gone completely
- we hear Conte actively doesn't want Maddison, and Paqueta seems to be a FP pick
- we know he wants Zaniolo, but everything on this thread implies we're still some distance apart
- it's possible there's someone totally random in the background, but I'd be suprised

My guess is we either get Zaniolo very late in the window, or we're done after Udogie

Would be a great window.
It would be, but we are still 2 players short IMO, maybe even 3 but we arent going to sign a 4th rwb.

Hopefully something is cooking the background, someone accidently released 2 names on here that arent meant to be known publically (not that I saw them) so Im hoping things are cooking behind the scenes. COnte was positive about 2 more in recently after the Southampton game so hopefully he still is.

There’s conflicting information regarding this. Dragon has said that Conte likes him.

Different posters get different info all the time, it’s important to remember that.

I'm not going to do the 'dick sucking partizan' thing and say "our ITKs are the best, because SC is great, waah waah waah", but....

While a lot of ITK info needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, generally I find those that post on here i.e. Trix, WLB and Herc pretty accurate. No offence to anyone I haven't mentioned (for a start, I probably include you in the list, I just didn't mention it) but I think A LOT of the info of the others is just the result of an echo chamber. A lot of it 'feels' optimistic or wrong at the time, and mostly if it's looked at retrospectively, it's proven to be the case - getting over excited about Lautaro last year for instance. We may have been close at one point, but it felt dead a long time before people were still claiming victory.

I think it’s just a case of listening to everything that’s out there and seeing it as a holistic thing. We get a lot of info from a lot of different sources, and they all have their own sources etc. They can’t all be right all the time.

It’s always worth noting what other sources are saying. Dragon has a long track record and I highly doubt his stuff is the result of an “echo chamber” (whatever that means.) He doesn’t get involved with chit chat or back and forth. He just shows up, dumps his info and that’s it.

Dragon on coys

we still want a defender not a young one a top one who will be a starter

conte would like 3 players , def, mid and attacking mid , the problem is we have hardly got any money coming in for the outgoings, geo we are still paying 20% of his wages, we are doing everything we can to get the wage bill down so we can make more signings

Ndombele going to Napoli would be big. Winks will have to accept a move eventually. And you have to think Reguilon will get some interest and be motivated to move ahead of the World Cup. I think the problem is if it is a numbers game, being patient is hard when it feels like those moves are going to occur as a result of late-window urgency, and we want to be more proactive. I still think we would do a deal for a player if it's agreeable to our terms and it's an improvement to the squad. I also feel like Dragon's general view tends to be bearish and think that a lot of his information is painted in that way.

Seems reasonable/realistic. I think we’ve got more than we could have wished for personally.

If we think we can afford more, and the right player is there, great, otherwise I’m happy going into the season with what we have

Hardly any money coming in? Have we used that much of our war chest already? 55 on Rich, 15 on Spence and 25 on Bis? This is far from our "war chest" alone, and not counting in any other income?

i know we were high on our horses when we heard we finally got a war chest, but lets be real, like Conte said this is what you need to do if you want to be a top club in the PL. Arsenal with EL is spending more than us 2 years in a row now and that with no "war chest"

We need 2 more players that can compete directly with the starting 11, one CB and one attacking/creative midfielder. I know it is great we finally got people in early, but would people be happy if we closed the window with what we have now?

kinda worrying if we are paying 20% of Gio's wage as well. what will change next year then, if they can not even pay his wages, they will never buy him anyway?

It sounds like the restriction now is more wages rather than fees.

As he mentioned we are still paying part of LoCelsos wages I thought the same

We will still pay a lot of Ndombele s wages if we can shift him on loan.

3 more in still seems a lot, but players that weren't available might become available now I guess

Also am I right in saying transfer fees are spread over the length of the contract, so in reality we haven’t spent to much of the £150m?

So the 150 million war chest isn't really 150 million?

Would recommend reading the ENIC thread when £150m was announced. It wasn't purely for transfers (new or existing) and wouldn't all be drawn down in one hit.

Not exactly. They're usually paid in installments with an up front payment of some kind. How much you have to pay each year is decided during the negotiations. We might be paying more upfront with certain deals to get a cheaper deal. We'll probably be paying agents fees on top of transfer fees as well.
You're probably thinking of the clubs accountants who will depreciate the cost over the life of contact, but that's a different thing.

Three more in seems a lot.

1) we’re not obliged to spend it if the right players aren’t there - we’re heavily indebted
2) can we really ignore the 40m spent on Romero and the upcoming obligation for Deki?
3) I imagine it’s spaces in the squad and wages as much as anything else
4) I imagine we’ve got more than we’re letting on, to help with any price negotiations we want to go into
