Being pissy about a transfer and being pissy about training/playing are different things. He wants a transfer but if he stays for a year it doesn't mean he will underperforming. If anything he has an even greater incentive.

I can appreciate Eriksen backing his ability to make the first 11 but he needs to appreciate our position, theres examples in the market as to why we wont be taken for a ride. Unfortunately madrid have this situation wrapped round their finger and its going to take a hell of a game of bluff from Daniel. Expect a swap deal will probably be the best we can hope for.

Hope Levy doesnt get any shit from this situation.

Little bit of a harsh way to word it but I agree.
It is the signal being sent to others ,if players are allowed to run down contracts/ refuse to sign it will harm the club in the long run as it will become the norm.
And then players will think even harder before joining if they know that’s how we treat players. It’s all a balancing act. I agree I want him gone though if he doesn’t want to be here. Even if we don’t get what we think he’s worth.

People are really overreacting IMO to this situation, he wants to go to the best clubs in the world, not for our rivals like Modric

Have a feeling based on previous ITK from Trix that CB is the one position we won’t be strengthening this window even with Toby leaving. Slightly concerning.

Who’s to say Real seeing Eriksen as a squad player isn’t just a ‘negotiating’ tactic? They’re a slippery club.... the question is whether Levy will fall for it (I doubt it) and let a prized asset go for peanuts. The only feasible alternative is either a moderate amount of cash plus Ceballos, or Diaz and DC as a straight swap. In today’s market that’s circa combined £70m worth of players in exchange for Eriksen.

It's a little embarrassing how Eriksen/us try and force him on Madrid when they clearly aren't that interested.

Whilst I understand that footballers may wish to test their capabilities at the highest possible level in the game, getting pissy in order to achieve this is certainly not the way forward.

Bit of respect please Eriksen, I mean, c'mon, I was one of the feckers that actually spelt your name correctly.

It’s not, we’ve a prized asset that won’t sign a new deal. It’s therefore in the clubs best interests to move them on before their value crashes over the next 12 months.

How much did we pay for Eriksen? 8m? 11m?
If RM don't want to pay our value and he wants to act like a little bitch, then fuck them and fuck him too.
We've had 6 years out of him on a pretty low wage, so if he wants to see out his contract then that's fine by me.
Let's see how many big clubs want him after a season of League Cup games and Monday night shitters?!

“Zidane clearly doesn’t” Really? How do you know that? You don’t think they’re possibly playing the card to get him cheap? Do RM buy Squad Players?
Totally agree. Also Eriksen May have ‘total belief’ in his own ability and believe that when he gets his chance then he’ll take it and remain a fixture in their 11.

The way that people are talking makes it sound as if it’s totally at the expense of his career and just for the money.

A bit 'spurned lover' folks...

Eriksson clearly wants out, just get it done.
Good luck with the demands of the Madrid fans Christian

Whilst I appreciate all the ITK’s info and am sure it is given in good faith, let’s not just take it as read that he is acting ‘pissy’. Until he comes out in press or is clearly acting unprofessionally I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I think his previous six years deserve that much.

Maybe, just maybe Eriksen believes in his ability to go from squad player to starter? Happy to let him go, but to berate him for wanting to go to the biggest club in the world regardless of being just a squad player is a bit over the top. Not like he only just joined us. He's been with us since Bale left. He might just be getting pissy as he doesn't want to leave it too long for our and his sake.

can't blame him on the whole tbh as he clearly knows if he doesn't go now he won't get another chance.

however, it's madrid and you typically only get on their radar by playing at a consistently high level and generally tearing it up. If he'd upped his game by even 10% in the second half of the season when we were crying out for it, he'd be ahead of pogba now and probably already be in madrid with our blessing. look at hazard absolutely destroying the scum in his last game for example. maybe eriksen knows deep down he's blown it and that's why he's pissed.

Re Toby: at some point the club has to move on. At some point he's clearly burned bridges at the club, no point pining over him just like Eriksen.

Sanchez is in my opinion an incredible prospect and arguably needs to be getting regular game time soon. He was excellent alongside Vertonghen for half a season. Last season he was a bit wobbly but he didn't get much of a run of games I don't think him and Toby had good chemistry. Vertonghen is a better leader and organiser IMO.

He actually brings more height and pace than our current CBs, which is good to have.

I'm sure we'll consider adding another CB but I think Davinson and Vertonghen will be first choice. Will be sad to see Toby leave but that's football.

True, but at the same time he doesn't need to do that too much anyway, the contract situation is all the leverage he needs. Pogba doesn't have that.

I don't. Pretty sure Poch will make do with Foyth and Dier.
