The club is more important than any individual person, if Jihadi John or Kim Jong Un bought Spurs it would not reduce my commitment or loyalty to the club one bit

If you did, (reduce your commitment or loyalty that is) Kim Jong Un would probably have you executed by Anti-aircraft gun firing squad...ouch!

This isn't transfer related and I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place but I've been working for my photography company today and we have a partnership with the MK Dons. I attended a function to discuss marketing our photo shoots as a corporate deal for season ticket holders and a lot of the staff have been informed that discussions are at a very late stage concerning us being there for a season. Apparently spurs are wanting to bring their own staff to work the stadium on match days whereas MK Dons are resisting and want the current staff to work both clubs home fixtures.
Not that exciting but made me wonder that if they're talking bout small issues like this then maybe the discussions are further that we imagined?
My mate works as a steward at Spurs and he was informed that the original plan to build 3 stands then play there is now the most likely

The club are set on spending a season in Milton Keynes without question: the comments at the meeting with the THST were the biggest clue so far and your information seems very believable to me. Makes my skin crawl that we're getting into bed with the franchise football abomination in Milton Keynes. Ugh.

Paul Barber actually said we'd be groundsharing with MK back in about 2008. It's been arranged for years and years.

Sorry mate, but I think there's no chance this is happening. Levy has confirmed we are moving out, not proposed it. One of the reasons we are changing the plans is because of safety concerns, so this just won't happen unfortunately.

I'm not in love with MK and their history by any means but after talking about Qatari ownership all day, it doesn't seem THAT bad of a deal with the devil in order to get a world class stadium (and still be an active EPL side that season).

Have no problem with being owned by Qatar but find the idea of sharing a stadium with a club that moved from someplace to someplace and changed its name is abhorrent and unacceptable.

Yep. Really not comfortable with the idea of doing business with the Wimbledon killers.

On the other hand it will make moving into our shiny new stadium all the more glorious.

I was being sarcastic. I cannot comprehend how sharing a stadium, for one season, with the MK Dons is somehow the definition of moral bankruptcy, yet being owned by the State of Qatar is a justified means to an end.

MK Dons may be the devil, reincarnated, but they don't have blood on their hands. Qatar is swimming in blood.

We have a peculiar situation where the people are slagging off Fifa for handing the World Cup to Qatar, with a mountain of reasons why it's an awful, inhumane decision, then being apologists for the exact same crimes when it comes to possible ownership of this club, and attempting to rationalise them because it leads to a result they desire, then going on to decry the immorality of sharing a stadium with a team that replaced another team.

Sharing a stadium with the "Wimbledon killers" is a no-no, being owned by actual killers is perfectly fine. That's the gist of things here.

MK Dons ruined a football club, so it's understandable that people who care about being devoted to a team (as opposed to switching from United because you don't happen to like their current owners) might have a problem with it.

It's not related to the hypothetical Qatar deal. Either way, I'm sure I can be opposed to the owner whilst taking some pleasure in any success that comes along with it.

Speaking of Barber, is rebrab still about? Really find his itk interesting but haven't seen him about in a while!

(I always read rebrab as Barber even though I doubt he is actually Paul Barber)

Actually Wimbledon ruined themselves and was about to go out of business until Winkleman took them to MK and saved a lot of jobs.

But then this isn't the place to discuss this

I found this informative, posted on SO

niger - latin for black
petra - latin for stone

Blackstone are a huge American alternative investment management firm and the world's largest real estate private equity business, currently #373 in the Fortune 500.

They just this week sold Center Parcs. Perhaps a coincidence, but N M Rothschild acted as advisers to Blackstone for that sale - the same N M Rothschild which is advising THFC on stadium financing.

I totally prefer the way we're going right now - slow, strong build, integrating homegrown players over time that have a strong bond/emotional connection to the club which fosters loyalty and determination to gain success.

Adding well targeted quality where/when we can before the stadium build which will allow us to target even higher quality elements to strategically place in the team.

The main thing though is producing our own stars and keeping them here.

I think we can do what United did with giggs et al.

Do you believe in Santa as well?

I'm getting adverts from Jordan's tourism board to "Visit Petra".

Make of that what you will. The buildings are sort of red-tinted, though. Not black at all.

Rabrab is both an anagram and a palindrome for Barber. That's pretty cool.

Oh and delete the picture. It's against the rules.
Only when you spell it incorrectly...
