The reason the cryptic hasn't been resolved yet is because it is sensitive information, so that rules out players widely linked in the media IMO.

It's why I'm hoping for a wet dream like Kramer and Son from Bayer, however that link was pretty tenuous, and would be a miraculous deal if we could pull it off anyway.

IMO it in no way rules out players widely linked in the media. In fact because I don't believe in secret deals, because secret deals are rarely in the interest of the player, and the buying club and the selling club, because they confound the market principle, I'd go as far to say they almost certainly do refer to players with whom we have been previously linked. In fact I reckon TA is the little cabbage.

There are lots of reasons info might be sensitive, for instance if it's traceable in some way, or if in getting out it's mis-attributed to one party or another so queering the deal, or perhaps we're trying to offload a player first and don't want it known we've almost signed his replacement. Lots of reasons.

I don't think the link was that tenuous. I thought it worked quite well. And it can't be a coincidence that there is a Kramer & Son sauerkraut company!
