you don't spedn time, effort and 15m on a back up for VDV incase he gets injured?!
You pay that for him and he gets put in the starting 11 and then you have all sorts of issues off the ball.

WE sell VDV then mata is on list of players you look at to replace him with. out of the two though in both ability now and potential VDV is better than Mata. so i'll stick with VDV.

WE should be looking at CF's only until thats position is sorted.

maybe i should have been more clearer. mata can play just like vdv a variety of positions right across the front line. he wud give us options in putting bale at left full if needs be. he can replace lennon and keep vdvd just behind front man.. so many options.. harry has been saying for ages we need more craetivity more goals from midfield. this is not a 1 to 11 game anymore and like jones and ashley young to united you cant have enough of good young players to give you options. they spent 20 million on jones and he might not even get on bench

This window looks like being another let down. All our ITKs have listed players we are linked with and all of them have either rejected the move in one way or another, want to go somewhere else, we can't afford or have been bought by other people. We have been told we can't buy till we sell - we agreed a fee for Palacios, no movement for over a week. O'Hara is sold and Hutton is interesting Villa.

Spurs behave in the transfer window like they do in matches, start playing well when they need to. Soo frustrating!

How do you know that to be fair?

Srna would be a great addition on many levels - an upgrade on any of our right fullbacks, brings a level of extra leadership on the pitch and also comes with the dreaded 'free kick specialist' tag although I dare say if we brought David Beckham here his set pieces would quickly turn to shit.

He's also won things and you can never have too many 'winners' on your team.

I'd love Srna, have been banging on about him for years, but my question was, was Brownhead suggesting we are interested in him ?

I don't KNOW it, just like ITKs don't KNOW they go on trust of the individuals who MAY KNOW.

Parker - Still training at West Ham. Too Expensive and despite getting £5m for O'Hara we've not bought him. AVFC interested in him now.

Rossi - Wants to go to Italy. We are an end of window last choice for him.

Adebayor - Waiting for a move to Real Madrid and City wont sell to us.

Leandro - Can't afford the risk so won't pay it. Dwelt to long, he rejected us for a stay there.

I could go on...

Is Srna not a right back? I know there is likely to be a concrete offer from Villa for Hutton but that still leaves Charlie and Walker. Id like to see Walker 'understudy' Charlie and get a few games next season.

There is still over a month to go until the first game. Sunderland have just signed about 37 players in less than a month. We only need 5 (at most).

Calm down.

No, not now. Could have been today though. Although, that is highly unlikely.

I have visions of Harry and/or Levy quietly clasping their hands together waiting for the 'Incoming Offers for Players' fax machine to spew out offers 10x what they paid for the said player.

I am calm, just frustrated as I can see it happening again.

There was over a month to go last season at this point too, but tell me this, what would have happened to us had Real not rang us with VDV?

I don't think so, Srna hasn't been a name mentioned via anyone else so I'd be sceptical if we have any concrete interest.

Considering all our well documented problems in the forward line, there has been little talk of our whole right flank which is baffling as Lennon has been linked away and there seems to be little faith in any of our right fullbacks so I'd have thought someone like Srna would be a priority transfer this Summer.

we would have finished in the top 4 with our strikers all finishing with double figures due to playing with two up top!!!!

Quick question you knowledgeable bunch, was it etoo or Bergkamp we could have signed when we plumped for Chris Armstrong? Sugars infamous Carlos kickaball quote? What a plum he is BTW.

i'll be claerer. the reason barc and madrid won't make room for him despite his ability on the ball is because he's next to awful off it. in the pl mata will not play or do a job left or right midfeild. it's no.10 role or nothing especially for SPurs. VDV is better and already on the books. we don;t need and i expect we don't want so it's good we're not wasting time going in for him.
