I think if we are going for a CB we have to work quick as Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd will probably all be looking to fill that position in January which could lead to an auction on the likes of Cahill (who i can see at chelsea or utd) Samba (arsenal) or Vertonghen (Arsenal or Chelsea). Personally i think with Gallas fit again and King looking to have some control on his knees, Dawson to come back and the improvement of Kaboul that even if we sell Bassong (which we should) we are pretty good and whilst a fifth cb would be ideal, it isn't a priority as i can't see anyone that good being happy to come into that lineup.

For me we need to work out what we are doing with Ady. IF we can persuade him to sign a £100k a week contract then we need to secure a £7-8 fee with City to make the move permanent at the end of the season (low i know but i think they'd take it). IF he isn't going to sign we need to look for his replacement over the summer but try and bring in a young backup now to bed in and settle for the new season. Young GK is needed but not now. So basically we don't NEED anyone but could do with some reinforcements in our backups.

Bloody hell it is dead in here.

Not player ITK, but ITK all the same - borrowed from spud:

Next week at the AGM it will be announced that we are going ahead with the NDP. Info courtesy of Edmonton on COYS.

Should of kept the transfer section open in spurs chat for a little while longer! not sure people can handle the itk section just yet. That or they have not noticed its open again yet?.

It'll pick up. It was like this last year too. A few bits of ITK and it'll be swinging in here like a party at Danielle Lloyds house when the Spurs squad are in town.

:shifty: Am I allowed back in yet? :shifty:

After the mayhem in here over the summer re big money signings which never materialised (no surprise there) .... we should see a fairly quiet January with only low fee/loans incoming.

A young goal keeper - would like to sign Krul and loan him back to Newcastle for a year or 2, until Friedel is ready to retire.

Quality cover for Bale/Lennon would be nice but not essential.

A striker is a must.

A new defender would be nice. I hear Vertonghen can cover right back, centre back and defensive midfield - would be an excellent signing and allow us to cash in on Bassong and possibly Corluka.

I don't know about anyone else, Teeside, but I told you our squad would be stronger after the transfer window...don't really care whether we spend big money or not, just so long as anyone we bring in improves the squad.

Personally i think a lot of the possible summer signings were being held up by the need for us to shift players out of the club, which we didn't do until the last minute, certainly there was ITK and info direct from 'Arry that confirmed this.

In which case surely we're able to go out in this window and sign a player or two before selling, which hopefully will lead to a bit more excitement early on.

Apart from obvious cover for Adebayor, I'd like us to buy a couple of players who have been there and done it. Players who will give our relatively young squad the mental guidance and experience as we look to push on to the top of the table at the end of the season. I wouldn't mind players like Ballack or Beckham until the rest of the season.

I haven't said anything about our squad not been stronger? which it clearly is. I was purely referring to all the hype about us reportedly pursuing the likes of rossi, llorente, , aguero, kaka, benzema etc .... they were never ever in a million years going to happen.

No, but I was referring to a conversation we had, where I said that our squad would be better after the Summer transfers, and you were not so sure (to say the least) - as I remember it.

Yes I remember that conversation but it has nothing to do with my comment that you highlighted, lol.

I wonder who'll be the next quality bargain signing? Klasnic?

Knowing 'Arry/Levy, they'll probably get Dzeko (who rumours say is disgruntled ) for 35 pence and a 99 (as in Ice Cream Van)

Reports have it that Man utd have tabled a £45m bid for Luca Modric.

Apparently he has turned down the move because he watches Eastenders on a Thursday night.
