this is quite a confusing statement right? says the don has got this, but then says we're not getting another CB didnt we already know this?

I’m starting a new job today for the first time since 2014 which is a welcome distraction but also means I’m going to be relying on checking this thread every few hours for updates. God help me.

We still haven't replaced Bale or Vinicius so I can't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to bring in a couple more players without moving anyone in, in theory at least.

You are silly with replacing Bale or Vinicius.

Bale haven't played for half a season and Scarlet isn't any worse than Vini was I believe.
Fully fit and (hopefully) useful Bryan can do the job for both of them, not to mention Scarlet again. Also, I don't think Dele and Bergwijn will underperform as last year.

It's not a simple as one out one in, building teams doesn't work like that. It's not maths.

Aurier is going, hopefully today but if not definitely next summer when his contract ends anyway. Perhaps it's worth taking the hit for a year rather than leaving it and taking a bigger hit paying a higher fee next year and maybe for a lesser option.

What are you talking about? It's about the number of squad places available and we currently have space despite hearing that we need to shift players before bringing anyone in, that's my point.

The jury is still out on Dier and Sanchez, despite their very good start to the season, and Tanganga prefers RB while Romero looks like he’s going to miss a substantial chunk of the season between now and December thanks to quarantine requirements.

CB shouldn’t be a priority but someone like Tomiyasu who can play a few positions at the back wouldn’t be the worst idea, I don’t think. Or a cheap filler option like that Duarte guy.

Things are more relaxed. Just not that relaxed

For example, there's a heap of spam post full of emojis about moods if this or that happens just above. Usually, the banstick would be stuck up him handle deep for that shit. Now, people are starting to talk about squad bollocks, admittedly the needle on the meter is twitching on that one but we'll see.
