Perhaps he'll come back in later today with an improved schedule, if that was the problem, not what Wolves wanted but good enough.

What's the point of having the best stadium if we don't play with the best opponents? The means Champions League. Honest to god, Levy really does strike me as delusional sometimes. The business we have done this window is great, but we need a creative player, the last three games have shown us that. If we don't secure a player of that ilk, we will struggle. The table does not tell us the whole story.

We were also playing with 4 attacking players and now we are currently using 3 attacking players on paper

I think you're a fantastic poster mate and I mean this in a light hearted way but you are the king of explaining away the decisions made by the club

Wonder if Paratici is that pissed off that he might consider walking?! Also wonder what repercussions this will have on relationship with Mendes who looked like he was lining up moves based on us getting traore as in Valencia selling guedes to wolves and then Valencia signing another one of his players to replace guedes. He ain't going to be happy to see this domino of trades collapse and that could harm us in future

If Mendes wants paying then he goes and works his arse off trying to get Wolves to compromise or he tries to persuade Levy he needs to agree Wolves payment schedule. I don't for one moment believe he will not be trying both right now as he will be sniffing a fat commission slipping away if he doesn't.

Hoping a last minute loan crops up for a forward whether it be a striker or wing forward.

I'd be satisfied with the window if it did if it did. Would feel like the squad was far more ready to cope.

In terms of the window yes it is as it gives the false impression that were good to go which were not. Last season we saw us make some improvements due to a bad start so it's hardly a conspiracy theory.

People want the squad improved, you're happy with it , good for you but giving a flying fuck about the actual game will matter in December when we have a tired group of players trying to compete in four competitions and were doing so with an unbalanced squad.

One huge squad improvement would be a player already at the lodge getting his head right and earning some of his £200k a week. It's all very well saying we should spunk a load of dosh for a creative midfielder but we already have one. That for whatever reason he is unavilable is not on the hierarchy.

"Refuses to consider moving on Bergwijn to free up space/finances."

If Nuno was so keen to replace Bergwijn, I suspect he wouldn't have started him 4 times in the opening 15 days of the season. Selections suggest other attacking options, who there has been no ITK/rumour of us trying to moving on, are behind him in the pecking order so would logically be moved on before him. Not sure what I'm missing...

It kind of feels like Levy is giving up before the season is getting started. He probably sees top-4 as a long-shot, no matter how much we spend/upgrade, and thus a "Not Financially Worthwhile" investment.

Levy probably sees that with or without investment, 5-7 is our likely window - and its better to get there on the current budget, than to spend more.

Spending 30m for Emerson when we still have 3 other right backs at a club but refusing to spend 40m for Adama when we have space for another winger/striker at the same time doesn't quite add up IMO...
Emerson was 25 plus 5m, Traore is at least 40m but sounds more like its 50m and they want it all at once. Massive difference.

It already has, he’s managed to undermine 3 of his staff with one move

Why would he do that though? If the money is there he will spend it. That is what always has happened. The fact he has allegedly pulled the plug on traore will be more to do with the fact we haven’t been able to sell Ndombele or have 4 right backs in the squad if Emerson comes. That and the fact the pandemic has wiped 100s of millions off of the income streams of the club.

People aren’t thinking straight. This is the guy that found £30 million one window for sissoko, a player the manager didn’t even want. Would he really pull the plug on traore if we had the money? No, of course not. That makes no sense.

As above mate I think we're short in forward areas.

Vinicius for all his faults was handy in those europa games and lower league cup ties and bake at times made huge differences.

One more in that area and I'd be happy.

To those who are asking who will play in cups...

I am convinced all eggs in one basket , that is PL and CL qualification. We will play the B team in cups - template is already set in not flying the main XI for the away leg vs Pacos. If the B team gets to knockouts, may be will bring in the big boys.

Otherwise, I am sure, our focus is only PL ..especially with the start we have had

Those questioning why we've signed another RB over attacking options..... From what others are saying, this will become apparent in the coming weeks. Probably a pivotal signing long term.

Its not that straightforward. Nuno may be willing to sacrifice Bergwijn in order to get Traore, as Bergwijn is probably easier to sell for decent money than Moura.

Having to give it all I have, but, I for one will reserve my judgement until 11:01 tonight. Deadline day has everyone changing their mind very quickly.
Either way, I won’t be venting on here because ultimately it won’t change anything (call me a happy clapper, but I can’t be arsed to be annoyed at levy et al over our transfer strategy because who knows how our signings turn out this year??)
Just breath, we’ve had worse windows and if levy doesn’t want to go all on to get a CL spot, then that’s on him.
