Why on earth is Gomes still at the club?

3 Goalie's on big wages - and 1 solitary left back, with 1 full PL season behind him.

Yes, I know we've done some excellent work - but it wouldn't be a Spurs summer window without at least one bafflingly unbalanced position.

An injury or a red card and we're back to juggling Naughton and Vertonghen at Left Back.

No need - you had Benny!?

What does the guy do, smoke crack in the dressing room?

Perez wins over Levy!

We sell our best player to them but fiddle around too much.
He sells a world-class midfielder to NL rivals- knowing the effects of that
Stitches up over FC- our main LB target
...we sign 7 top players including the striker we've needed for like 5 years yaay
Oh wait normal people aren't on here tonight

A quality signing today for the current 11 or as prospect would have been a bonus. The last day is about bargains & spending on a whim. From how we have gone about business this window you can see that's really not our way now.

We have strengthened in many positions, so well that when bale actually went, the blow was barely connecting with many fans.

I'm happy with what has been done, there's money still there & it wasn't frittered away in last minute desperation. There is now time until January to scout, assess, form another smaller list, and spend again astutely and productively, improving the squad further. I'd imagine we will wrap some business up early and clinically again. Hopefully it's another boring deadline day next window because we've done it all before then and already made other club's fans sit back & bitch jealously (again)... and shame on you if you were a spur & doing that on here tonight!

As for we haven't replaced Benny, well I was under impression Rose wasn't part of our squad last season, non? I get it that it's not replacement some want, but it is a replacement nontheless.

Actually besides 7 purchases, we've Sandro and Kaboul back from injury and Rose & Townsend back from successful PL loans.

So can we actually recall Benny at any time? I thought we could only do that during the window?

Carroll should've been rotated with Eriksen behind the striker. He's the one player in our squad with outrageous vision and technique to match. I don't think he needs a year at QPR, he needs a year for us whilst others are finding their feet.

What about holtby?

We sold our gamechanger to strengthen the squad all across the park.

We have greater depth than at the start of the window.

The second half of last season, we were rubbish nearly every match and relied on Bale scoring every week. When this squad gels I'm confident we will be much better overall.
Indeed while the other clubs have strengthened as well keepin their gamechanger and not made wholesale changes. We have a stronger squad but current ability its debatable whether or not we have a stronger first 11 and doesnt matter how good the squad is the 11 on the day have to do it and for some reason other clubs dont have injuries like us

He's better to play 1st team football week in week out.
Also, Walker went QPR for 6 months couple of years back, and then loaned to prem club in Jan. Same could happen here.

Daniel Levy has virtually made a total upgrade on the first team squad without touching any 'transfer kitty'/Lewis loan/tv money. Outstanding. Now lets hope that money is ploughed into the stadium build fund and get the bugger built ahead of time. A satisfied customer.

Maybe the cryptic clue was.... that we weren't doing any business. You know... the cryptic is there is no cryptic. Just sayin'.

I really hope the negativity on here isn't an indication of the mood of our fans in general. We should all be buzzing going into the next game. We've got an incredibly strong squad, full of versatility. COYS!

Holtby says hi

Hmmm

I've seen more in Carroll. Maybe it's just because Holtby has played more and been very ordinary but Carroll seems to move the ball quicker and alway with purpose. He wouldve done a great job yesterday.

I was happy enough but the FC deal to united has left me upset if im honest. If we couldnt get him a LB shouldve come in imo. Im glad we kept lennon and think we will see much mire of him than ppl think. Lemala eriksen Lennon on their strong foot sides behind soldado would work for me
