We all know how this is going to go.

We'll sign Nkoudou and probably someone for the U17s and that'll be it. Danny Boy will turn up for work tomorrow with a new diamond studded Prince Albert saying we really tried for Isco but Real wouldn't accept the fee in Somali shillings or some such excuse.

The difference from past windows is that i'm actually ok with this. Of course it would be nice to have a shiny new marquee signing but Poch has shown he can develop our youth players. If at the end of the season Winks, Onomah or Edwards have become 1st team regulars at the Alli level then Levy's parsimony in yet another window will quickly be forgotten.

I was totally cool with it till last weekend. My main problem being Poch only seems to trust Josh to change things and usually brings him on with as little as ten to go. This means he doesn't trust Son, and sacrificing Njie means he actually doesn't trust either of last summers key signings in the am 3. Bidding for Sissoko further proves this, and the whole picture including Mitchell's departure shows decision making on recruitment is as ragged as it ever was under ENIC.

If the first eleven stays fit and fires we can do well in spite of such mismanagement, and finish top four again, but only Lamela has lived up to the billing so far.
