I look forward to Poch telling us how happy he is with our "unbeliebable sqauw" tomorrow.
It wont matter because people will just assume he's lying. Maybe by some crazy theory he is actually in control of our dealings in the window and is actually happy.

I have heard nothing since this morning(which I posted). I'm just saying these deadline day deals often twist and turn, they are off then on then off then on again. Terms of the deal often change quickly to get things done purchases that are definitely off become loans latter on, or Players move in the opposite direction that were never part of the original deal as a sweetener to the selling club. Admittedly we don't have the best track record with getting things to a yes conclusion in the end, but as I say I'm fairly sure we will still be trying for a while yet.

It would just be nice to not have to be busy on deadline day and to do all our business earlier. We look comical, every season. As a fan I can't help but think that we are always gambling with possible success by not being clinical enough with our dealings. We go from being desperate to sign a player and just missing out on them and then not going back in for them next window year after year which suggests we were not really in for them in the first place.

What magic? I've been following Spurs for four years now and all I remember on deadline day was Dempsey. VDV was before that and seems to be the only reason Levy has this rep for deadline day deals. He hasn't done anything recently on deadline day.

You may be just speaking out of blind hope for something, which I appreciate it because we are all likely hanging on to that since there isn't anything else to hang onto with the ITK today.

Have to remember this last time year we were stressing saying we have no cdm and dier isn't the answer and we all know how he's done since. Sometimes the answer is right under our nose. Have to trust in poch even if you are a levy hater. He seems to know what he's doing

That's brilliant, but surely not when the games we will be playing are for extremely high stakes.

Funny, I thought Bentaleb and Mason played out of their skin at The Emirates ... how many games did they have under their belts?

Look, I'm not saying it's ideal but I would just like people to consider that perhaps we are not in such deep doo-doo as they are making out.

Anyone would think we still had Harry in charge. Have people not been watching??

Seriously, take a look at yourselves. Remember what Poch is about - Signing the right man, not just any man.

If Isco isn;t and never was up for it then fine. Give youth more game time.
If Sissoko, as expected, goes to chelsea for £250k pw then fine - he's a proven mercenary anyway.

Poch has and always will be about youth, commitment and loyalty.

Poch is obviously so desperate for players and doesn't trust the club to do the best that they can that he's gone on Holiday.

Adrian Silva has a €38.5m release clause, haven't we been linked?

I think we should wait until the window has closed before we begin to lose our minds.

Why shouldn't people lose their minds now. What will change that hasn't changed since we signed Janssen 2 months ago. Never understand this kind of rationale which is prevalent on here. Then the same posters go into a rage when no activity happens. Why go into a rage after the fact when the window has closed or when the opportunity availed itself to strengthen the squad.

But promotes youth in its place - but because that doesn't cost £30m a pop, people lose their mind.
His reputation on that front is a bit overblown though IMO... Dier and Wanyama have been a poor partnership in the first 3 games and yet the next 2 in line have seen what, 15 mins between them? And we're supposed to believe they will suffice for the season?

Annoyingly Pritchard was let go without ever getting a game despite apparently being highly rated and now we are in a position where it looks like he would actually have been useful...

I think you'll find he's actually currently in Levy's office holding a knife to his wrists and shouting, "I'LL DO IT! BY CHRIST I'LL DO IT!!!! IF YOU DON'T BUY ME ISCO AND SISSOKO I SWEAR I'LL DO IT. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

so you think poch is happy with the current squad?

he worked wonders with what he had last season. extremely hard to do that again imo

I wonder if there is a bit of arrogance the way we've gone about the summer. Last season was a great campaign - qualifying for the Champions League, being in the title race, best team to watch and a resilience which saw us rarely beaten. It was the draws that cost us. Pochettino and his coaches have done a fabulous job transforming the club but we've stood still when it was prime time to accelerate.

Top quality signings stimulate those already there. The team improves, the players will feel the need to up their game because of competition and a top signing provides a positive bounce which causes opponents to be cautious.

Leicester won the league by 10 points but were very swift in bringing in their targets. They could have stayed humble to the players who took them to the title because lets face it, they'll likely never do it again. But for Leicester the next step is to become a regular European outfit. They don't want to fall from 1st to 12th. They want at least a top 8 finish. And with the competitiveness of the league that's not easy.

One of Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte, Poch, Wenger, Klopp and Ranieri are going to finish 7th at best.

You can't stand still.

I'm not crushed about Isco or Sissoko going, but I'm very worried about the players at Pochs disposal in the midfield. As much as we like to hate on them, Chadli and Mason were decent backups.

In AM there is only one proven cover that we could trust in CL matches - Son. N'jie seems to be switched with N'koudou, who is very very raw.

In CM we have strengthened in Wanyama, but have lost all other rotation options.

Youth might be a good option for cups and the bench in easier matches in the league, but I would very much like a 22-man squad that we could depend upon in difficult matches.
