Thoughts on Ali z's info? It's gone very quiet in here, hasn't it? I'm off out in the garden to shoot a nerf gun at something. Look forward to your thoughts on my return

I think he's probably heard that we're still working on something but at this point it seems kind of late to be working on something "new".

suction cup weapon or no?

So the obvious announcement this evening then and that's us by the look of it.

Pretty clear we would of liked to bring another quality player in, but doesn't look likely unfortunately.
Don't be down, there's still time to be linked with 2-3 players we've not heard linked yet.

6:08pm "SSN BREAKING; We're hearing X is on his way to the Spurs training ground by helicopter"...

10:52pm "We're hearing Spurs just ran out of time to get X over the line and may revisit it at 11:59pm on the last day of the January window"

That GKN transfer came out of nowhere though. lucky if we get that done in such a short time frame. :cautious:

What's disappointing and frustrating in equal measure, if no one else comes in, are Pochettino's remarks after the Liverpool game. I thought we were about to seriously improve part of our attacking options.

Yup...basically see the same stage of the window last year.

That worked out okay though...
yeah I remember when the window closed last year I thought we just have to get through the 4 months until the Jan window, but in the end we didn't even need it.

Think he was referring to GKN....

I just hope we finally see a bit of chest puffing when we get our new stadium. Hope that doesn't make this period of pure profit last any longer

Looks like it, Im not sure there will be an.immediate impact though, but who knows.

He looks like he has a lot of what we lack to be fair, lots of pace and ability to take players on, similar to Mane, which is why I think this is what Poch was talking about post Liverpool.

Honestly, the likelihood of anyone coming in this evening that hasn't already been broken in the news is next to zero. It looks like the swap with OM will be announced in the next hour or so and then that will probably be that. If there was any truth in the Isco talks then I think its gone away. MS may still be on the cards as its gone pretty quiet since it was broadcast that he'd left the French training camp - but no new news on him to Spurs. The keeper situation has been very quiet from ITKs and media so that is looking unlikely but may be a last minute announcement.

A lot of doom and gloom about the size of the squad but I don't see it as being any worse than last season, in fact I think we are in a better position as last year the fear was always about losing Kane, Dembele or Dier for me as there was no replacement. We have covered 2 of those positions for this year. Could we do with one or two more? Probably yes but I don't think we need to get too upset about the state of things. Anyone who thought we'd be challenging for the title this season is slightly off their rocker. We were not the best squad in the league last season, we weren't even in the top 4. Fortunately for us we had a number of teams underperform. The likes of Chelsea, Utd and City were always going to come back strong this year and we could have spent £100m and still not been guaranteed top four - see that City have just loaned out the England No1, Nasri who has been a top premier league performer for years, Bony and £30+m Mangala (sp) because they wouldn't even get in their squad of 25!! Its a different level. We have a methodology for getting young hungry players and building a squad mentality, you cant just throw players into that and expect results. I still think that this is a good window for progressing the squad but I guess after supporting through utter dross I can see progression where others are blinded by recent success.
