I'm as eager as anybody else to see Edwards in the team and have high hopes for Onomah and Winks but it's negligence to think that they will make a significant contribution. Onomah is still incredibly raw and Edwards, as we saw in preseason, is going to be knocked off the ball easily - Poch even said we need to take care of him. Throwing him in this early when he may not be ready is not looking after someone.

After 15 years of ENIC we STILL end up with these deadline day farces. The Euros ended nearly two months ago. And we decide to go for Sissoko now? Just as well Levy is in football. There can't be many other businesses where such last-minute ludicrous planning wouldn't get you the sack.

You're not following the rest of the leagues clubs in the window are you?

If we are done (as it looks like we are) I have to say that it feels like a very disappointing end to the window. All our rivals have strengthened their starting XIs and we quite simply haven't. It's not all doom and gloom as we have addressed some key weaknesses in the squad however it's most certainly disheartening

Are Arsenal or Leicester building a 500m new stadium?

The stadium Levy repeatedly said would NOT affect our ability to spend? And what about the money above and beyond what we've spent, a more than sizeable chunk. TV, CL money on top. Did he know about all that before he went for planning consent? My rectum, did he.

Danny Murphy summed it upon perfectly along these lines, "As a Spurs supporter I am disappointed in the signings overall. Can you say anyone we signed can challenge any of the established first 11? No you can't. We need someone like Mane, the right age and proven. He drives Liverpool. Would he be a starter for us? Yes. We have not taken advantage. Comparing to the teams around us, they have increased in quality leaps and bounds. We haven't. He went on to say he is not convinced in Janssen, and whilst Wanyama is a good signing and was needed, we have not addressed with that special Mane-type player".

I agree with him.
He has a point. CL this time and I was expecting one high quality signing who would be coming into the first team practically...and I mean someone who.brings pace and quality, that would of been a pivotal signing for me and ensured we kept up.with our rivals strengthening.

Since signing nkoudou roughly 8 years ago. Weve not done a single thing in the transfer market. Basically a month of assing about while rivals all strengthen.

Not sure that's his argument though. The argument is what's gonna happen with that cash!

That's my point. It's not about who has left more that the cash has not been utilised elsewhere in what will be a demanding season. However Mason player 1,900 minutes last season I believe which is just over 21 games. We will need to rotate and lack depth to do so effectively....

For those complaining about leaving it late, I don't think we had any choice with Isco / Sissoko. The entire point of those signings is that they would only work by leaving it late - Isco because he realises that he's not going to play or maybe even get a squad number, and Sissoko because Ashely wanted stupid money and the only way to push that down was if it went to the wire

Mane, on the other hand...

Levy has repeatedly said during THST meetings that the stadium will not affect spending on the pitch. There are two separate accounts. Plus the fact that this season there is something like 60 million extra TV money, and 30 million CL money which was not budgeted for when the stadium was costed. That is extra money. There is also something like 20 million profit from this transfer dealings and you are implying that the stadium is preventing buying one or two good quality players to improve the starting eleven. You're talking bollox.

He has said that but I don't believe him and evidence clearly backs me up as does pochettino.
The money is simply not there. I except that and building the new stadium is more important than blowing 10s of millions on over rated players

An absolute shambles. Embarrasing. Our reputation is getting tarnished by the way we operate in the transfer market.

I feel for Poch the most. How is he supposed to build on last year with a weaker squad!
