Fucking hell, the negativity :ROFLMAO:

It's bloody madness.

I love how having CL for a season and a bit of extra cash seems to mean that the best players in Europe should be knocking down our door to play for us.
Only once in our recent history have we attracted a player from above us in the pecking order and that was VdV so why does anybody believe that has changed? They would rather imagine the nefarious shenanigans of Daniel Levy are secretly holding us back rather than just facing the truth that Isco/Gotze/Meyer etc just don't fancy us.

That leaves us with having to pay £55 million plus for the likes of Zaha and Sissoko and no-one in their right mind should do that.

The bottom line is that we have improved the squad, maybe not as much as we all would have liked, but we no longer have any glaring deficiencies.

Some of the posts are probably the same as the moans every window.
We havent spent the cash, but if no one that represents value wanted to come then fuck it.
Our players are still no where near potential. If Poch can get more from them and consistency then that can take us to the next level.
Hate to say it but Leicester did it last year and did not spend millions.
So stop fucking moaning.

The way I see it, Poch was on holiday today. Sure he was by a phone, but if he was really stressing the quality of the squad, I think he would have stayed behind, or flown home for today to make sure we got what he wanted. I think everyone was on the same page in terms of players and prices. Club legitimately tried a couple of different players in Isco and Sissoco but could not push either deal across the line. I don't fault the club in either case, and I doubt Poch is losing any sleep over it either.

I can't see one actual fact in that diatribe, other than we've got into the CL. s'funny how we all see things differently.
Let's just see how the season pans out and revisit this conversation at the end of the season. I'll gladfully accept an apology in May, or sooner if you feel the need

The stadium Levy repeatedly said would NOT affect our ability to spend? And what about the money above and beyond what we've spent, a more than sizeable chunk. TV, CL money on top. Did he know about all that before he went for planning consent? My rectum, did he.

See my below post regarding what our dear leader says
Edit above post (man how pissed am I)

If the success or failure of your transfer window hinges on a Real Madrid player who is well liked by the manager and fans deciding whether or not to leave, then you fucked up somewhere along the way.

It was worth trying for Isco given the circumstances but we should have sewn up other options earlier in the window and then waited him out as the possible icing on top of the cake.

Ultimately the buck stops with Poch if he doesn't want the signings, or Levy if he wont make them. If we disappoint this season or we clearly run out of steam like last year then justifyingly they should be criticised.

I don't think anyone wants us to go out and spend for the sake of spending but making such a big deal of finally achieving CL football again would. youd think, be a catalyst to add some real class to the squad. We need to be careful or we are gonna have by far and away the best stadium in the Europa league

For those complaining about leaving it late, I don't think we had any choice with Isco / Sissoko. The entire point of those signings is that they would only work by leaving it late - Isco because he realises that he's not going to play or maybe even get a squad number, and Sissoko because Ashely wanted stupid money and the only way to push that down was if it went to the wire

Mane, on the other hand...
But it's the same broken record every year. Our transfer strategy still needs work, identify ALL players early and go get them early before it's too late and you end up having to choose from a list of players who are out of reach whilst most of the attainable ones have already been snapped up.

This is coming from someone who has defended Levy a lot in the past.
