Because Jose smooth talked himself into the job, he probably accepted players not up to it only to then complain months later.

Conte seemed to allow a short period of good form from Doherty, Dier etc to give them time only to explode months later.

I reckon thats what he means and Postecoglou is telling them right off the bat, that certain players wont work in his system and he could work with cheaper options in the markets whereas Conte probably turned his nose up and Said hed rather work with what he had only to complain about it later.

But great to hear we are being decisive cause theres more transparency on how we operate.

Yeah he's a straight talker and doesn't play games where as Conte's entire existence seems to be one never-ending psychodrama.

Like, surely Conte gave deals like Spence and Danjuma the green light even if they were Levy/Paratici ideas and weren't quite what he wanted? That's fine but then he immediately undermined both signings and refused to use them. Completely self defeating and a waste of everyone's time.

I think Ange is someone who will take the blame if he green-lights a poor signing rather than being passive-aggressive or blaming the players.

Perhaps we are seeing another real benefit of a manager who hasn’t been working in Europe for too long and doesn’t have preconceived ideas about who his “dream signings” would be. Definitely sounds like his list will have been types/profiles rather than a list of names. Can therefore be far more open-minded when given names by the scouting staff.

Well this is nice……..

We need a lot in and out though so nothing to get overly excited by yet. However it is refreshing to see the club being decisive and give us a chance to complete all the business we need to complete this summer. We need a proper reset so speed is necessary.

We kind of did this last summer as well, though. Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison all in early and all players we felt we needed at the time and who had Conte approval. And all were duds last season for various reasons, although I think the latter two will be a lot better this season.

Ok ok. Calming down. Think sensibly. I’ve been plenty excited with signings before, ie Bissouma. Then we slowed down/stalled. So, we have plenty left to do, but this is an amazing start. I hope we keep going and positively address the other needs of the starting 11 this window. Sounds like Ange and Munn (plus many others I’d guess) are getting what he needs as quickly as we can.
Hoping his shirt# not being released is because there will be a few changes happening within the squad. 13 was good for Vicario as he wanted it, likes it, and not many other players do, so no need to wait.

Do we have any other sources saying we are progressing with Tapsoba other than D1? I feel like this is the position for me that is the absolute key for us in this rebuild. I feel like getting a top CB in could be the difference in propelling is back into the CL. I’ll feel so much more confident if we get it sorted
