Clyne's seemed pretty good whenever I've seen him, not sure why we need another RB though

IMO, Tevez isn't impossible.

According to this Guardian article, he was willing to take a pay cut to the (now apparently flatlined) Milan deal which if my maths works, means he'd be on 65k a week, something we could easily afford. However, we might not be as attractive as a prospect as Milan to Tevez - but as he's seemingly a puppet of Joobrachin's, we could try to up that to bring him here, plus a large signing on fee.

Regarding every other club being interested in him: could it be possible a lot of them see him as a timebomb? He doesn't seem like the brightest and if you let his advisors muscle into him too much he goes crazy. He'd be the perfect 'Levy keep him happy, Arry give support' signing.

Levy wants a statement, Tevez wants a fresh start, Joobrachin wants money. This could happen.

The article said £3.4m for the first year (£65k per wek) but then £4.3m plus bonuses for the next three years. The basic of £4.3m pa mioght be possible - but depends what the bonuses are. They could be based on number of games played and get back to £250 pw (ie his current cpntract) and be unaffordable.

His agent by the way is probably not controllable - even if Tevez might be without the agentr !

Tevez is a poison pill...Man City are a much better team without him!

Why not Berbatov? Still would be complicated to make a deal with us now competing directly with Man U and our transfer/personal history, but he'd have similar impact to Tevez with less problems as he wouldn't expect to start every game and is less of a head case.

Well, yeah, but I bet they wouldn't have minded having him this week.

Also, isn't it funny that exactly the same things were said about Adebayor

Just a thought on Ady, the info talks about a move for him in the summer. I may be wrong but isnt this his third year at city? That means he can buy up his contract at the end of the season. If that is so its just over £9m per season. Paying that plus a bonus and he may well take £90k per week.

Lol not to mention that Adam Smith (on loan at MK Dons) gets games over Clyne at England U21 level.

If only we could produce strikers like we do RBs!

Not sure if that rule has ever been used in UK - but if it were possible it would be hawked around by Ade's people as an auction to all other clubs, and the wages could be a lot higher. Unless of course Ade had fallen in love with Spurs !

True but I feel a number of clubs would be put off with his hyped 'issues' that the press always harp on about. Realistically I can only see he Milans and one or two other European clubs (PSG, Malaga) that might take a punt on him so if he is enjoying his time here then maybe we have the chance to secure him. As for the buying out his contract no it doesn't happen much however, given that he has been frozen out of city he may well look at all the options he has available to him.

Not sure the point of Ade taking the Webster route. The problem with signing Ade is nothing to do with his transfer fee; it has everything to do with his inflated wages. It has been variously reported that City would be willing to accept £10m to get him off their payroll. It would cost him £15m-£18m to buy out his own contract. He would be less likely to take a big pay cut.

There may also be a taxation issue if HMRC view a big signing-on fee as being taxable (which I think it is).

Doesn't make economic sense for highly paid players to take the Webster route.

I can't see how Tevez would fit into our team, who would we drop? VdV? Lennon? I can't see it and although Ade is not on a hot streak, he brings everyone else into play which imo is why we are difficult to play against. If we had a striker in our current formation who was scoring the majority of the goals, we would dry up if he went off the boil.

I'd rather have a back up to Ade or a similar hardworking striker who plays for the team, not a selfish striker who disapears when off form.
