Would remind me of the Gudjohnsen signing. A good player once and an experienced head, but definitely past his best (he's really fallen away the past 2 seasons).

7 goals in 14 Serie A games this season.

I think he would be a great short-term option.

Anyone of the top of there head know how old Button is? Could be used as third choice keeper if both Carlo and Coco leave, might still be u21???

I guess the obvious 7 would be: Jenas, Bentley, Khumalo, Gio, Alnwick, Naughton/Corluka and I think Gallas might retire.

Others like Pav, Bassong, Defoe, Krancjar/Pienaar, Gomes etc will need to be directly replaced.

Billy won't retire, I do think he will leave though. He's got good options all over the world, think he'll be another going to China or USA.

I make it 30 players excluding Kane and other youth players, but including Naughton & Falque.

Caulker and Carroll are both U21.

Gomes & Cudicini are both out of contract in the sumer, which takes in back to 28 (although we'll need to directly replace one of these so back up to 29 in reality).

Ok we'll need to trim that down a little bit, but that includes players like Jenas, Bentley, Pav, GDS & Corluka who basically aren't in our first team plans anymore.

We should try and sell Pav and GDS this window though, that way we've only got three players to shift in the summer, one of whom (Corluka) should be easy to do.

I think Falque will go to Southampton providing he does well in his loan in the championship, I also think button will go on loan again and we will finally get rid of Alnwick imo

Jenas, Bentley, Naughton and Khumalo are our overage loanees.

Walker, Rose, Caulker, Carroll, Townsend and Falque are our U21 first squad players. Of those I think Caulker, Carroll and Townsend will count as U21 again next year, i.e. we get 3 more to accomodate.

I wouldn't class Naughton as average, he should come back next season and be the backup for Rb and depending on rose's progress even lb

We have the current 25-man squad (including Adebayor and Alnwick) but 7 additional players who will need to be registered next season (JJ, Bentley, Naughton, Khumalo, Walker, Rose and Falque). Caulker, Townsend, Smith and Carroll will still be under 21.

We need to lose a net 7 players before the start of next season.

Were probably talking sell/loan 11 buy 4. I'd argue that losing that many would be mostly a blessing

Alnwick, khumalo, Gomes, GDS, Pav, corluka, gallas, bassong, loan out JJ, bentley and falque. Bring in remy, leandro, krul and vertongen. Massive win for the team and squad. Pipe dream we wouldn't lose a bigger name in that 11 or manage to sign those 4 but this is fantasy football isn't it?

He's already stated that he will stay at Spurs for another season and leave to the US at the end of that summer when his contract is up.

That suits me fine as we will have King, Gallas, Dawson, Kaboul, Caulker if we sell Khumulo and Bassong.

Yeah that was the interview where he stated his options, said about China or Dubai or Qatar or somewhere, and PSG and USA.

Personally I see that being brought forward to the summer. Money talks.

He has another year left on his contract after this one so it wouldn't really make financial sense for him to retire yet.

Milito on loan is simply not possible, unless they sign Tevez. Ranieri recently came out and said he liked the balance of the current starting line-up, which has Milito and Pazzini up front.

Well Alnwick, Cudi and Gomes are all out of contract next season, so if we bring in another keeper that's two gone already.

Realistically Pavy, one of Pienaar/Kranjcar, Bassong and dos Santos will all be gone by the start of next year too if all goes to plan (and as there's interest in all of them we'd be crazy not to get shot). Obviously we need to lose JJ and Bentley as well, but they're a lot harder to get rid of.

Then there's the players who will probably want to go or go out on loan such as Corluka, Defoe, Khumalo and Naughton, possibly Falque.

As long as Levy doesn't try and play hardball with all our sales, demanding ridiculous prices for all of them meaning we don't do any business til the last day, we'll be fine!

...oh who am I kidding we're getting relegated aren't we
