What would we do if bale and say modric were injured and out for 3/4 weeks.? who do we have to even slightly fill their boots.? The 10 point lead could suddenly be fuck all.
We dealt with this issue last season. We won at milan with a lennon/sandro/palacios/pienaar midfield. It's not great but we could still hold our own at home and against bottom half sides which we should. Players like pienaar, kranky, sandro, are all quite good even if not like for like replacements.

Granted it worked against Milan but in PL games I don't think we would create enough without Bale & Modric etc. We looked a different team without Lennon IMO. No balance and it also affected Bale as teams know theres less threat on the RHS, therefore allowing them to double up on the LHS to make it difficult for Bale.

They are good players, sandro is a beast. i love him, but the others just dont play. harry does not trust them. those 2 dont push the others. Harry is too blame also as watford was a great time to start SP and kranks. Jesus kranks needs some game time. He is not fit in the slightest, and i dont think he has been all season. Yeah its his fault, he is getting paid obscene amounts to be an athlete. But you have to get some game time ffs.

Agree to some extent. and I think it showed with Danny Rose last night who struggled positionally. Sitting on the bench for months and then being expected to play and perform to the standard of the players being replaced is very difficult.

I agree that HR obviously doesn't trust in players much outside of our strongest 14 players (starting 11 + Defoe, Sandro, Livermore). This is why I can't understand why HR keeps saying he only wants players who will improve our starting 11. In an ideal world that would be the case but bearing in mind our wage structure and the amount available to spend, that is never going to happen.

Buying players who could develop to be better than our starting 11 has to be the aim surely, thus replacing the likes of Kranky, GDS, Bassong.

Re Clive Allen watching Brighton vs Newcastle,

Don't we play newcastle in 2 weeks? a little scouting trip on them perhaps?

We've been previously linked to the player so its probably to have a look at him.

I'd imagine Harry would have gone there instead of the United game if we wanted to scout Newcastle.

I guess you are forgetting how we performed away at Norwich without Lennon.
