LD would require us smashing Modric's transfer fee.

Is he a better player than Modric was at the respective times? I think not.

Unfortunately, DL needs to realise that the transfer market has changed and you have to pay more nowadays

My God, I'm feeling incredibly imbalanced at the moment.....put it like this, my cat is either going to get the ride of its life tonight - or one hell of a thumping if it even looks at me the wrong way.

Basically its fate is in Levy's hands.

The trouble with all these quotes coming out of South America, is that we don't know when they were uttered?
For all we know, the latest quotes from Inter may have been several hours ago?
And it's all brinkmanship as far as I'm concerned anyway, the Chairman knows what he's doing...I hope :cautious:

We really peaked last January with deadline day lunacy - I think people are a lot more chilled to the fact that it aint gonna happen.

Leandro Damião -Spurs bid now reported to have been £13m - well below what Inter wanted. deal may still in on if bid is increased in future

:D
Come on levy, slap down 20 million euros final offer and, a la the signing of Modric, say if you don't accept it you'll never see me again. And you can stick your strategic marketing partnership up your jacksey too!

Unlike the fans, Levy is not interested in paying more than he reckons Damiao is worth. If there was a bid and it was a lot less than was reported, that is because the reporters were wrong, not because someone at Tottenham 'made a mistake'.

If we cannot get any given player for the price that the chairman thinks is appropriate, we do not buy him - ever. No matter what the fans think about this season's form. Levy does not buy important, expensive players for this season's campaign, even in January. The only exception to that was in Jan 2009, because we were in relegation trouble.

You can agree with it or be outraged by it, but it isn't going to change.

Why would the Goat hear that LD is close from 3 different sources and JJ imply that if a bid has just gone in? Something doesn't add up.

Him being close wouldn't of been suggested surely unless the bid had been accepted

Pfft. We've still got over an hr before the real panic. As it stands, nobody knows what is going on. Crossed wires, timings. The fucking lot. C'mon DL. Just one wafer thin striker.
