I would be hoping Ade would feature next week to some extent if he does sign, get the match fitness up, he needs to be fit for the two home games afterwards where we'll be looking at 6 points .

Although if is fitness is really down maybe that won't be possible.

Ohh, and Interpret that as ITK 'bashing' if you like, but I just can't understand how people still take his info as gospel.

He's only passing stuff on.

The news sounds positive. So I'd read that as "things are at least moving positively if they aren't completely sorted and done".

If we sign Ade before Newcastle and start him, how do you think Defoe will feel? Personally I don't care because IMO JD is not good enough to start. However in terms of player moral it might demoralise him. Having trained all pre-season to be dropped for someone who basically just walked in is harsh! At any level of football.

I think it was a similar situation last year when he signed and Harry said something about him being naturally and he bang in two v the bindippers so he will be cool.

.. On a more serious note I won't believe it till it's on the OS. Still, I needed something to get my spirits up after this horrible (in terms of ITK) week.

Could say the same about kane thinking that of defoe? now whilst theres a big difference in quality obviously, if defoe dont like it than its tough shit tbf, he hasnt exactly been playing alot of games iirc pre season, granted for good reasons

i think either way we can say we're gonna have a unfit striker up top next week

unless we sign leandro ;)

I've become addicted to Brazilian sports websites, search google for Leandro and limit search to last hour, Brazil for the region and Portuguese language. The latest sites say they are about to confirm a new striker to replace the imminently departing Leandro. Someone seems to have got him.

I guess that's what he gets for not going to Reading or whatever team it was that wanted to buy him! Though to be fair I hope we keep him, he's a good impact sub and we're certainly light up front even with Adebayor +1 if we are going to compete on all fronts this season.

For all the downbeat mood today, nailing the signings of Adebayor and Lloris over the coming few days, if the latest ITK is true, would put a whole different spin on things.
We still need a further striker, maybe/hopefully Damiao post Olympic final, and a replacement midfielder should Real stump up for our little unhappy Croatian but with Adebayor and Lloris joining Vertonghen and Sigurdsson, that's not a bad summer's business. Beyond that, further wide forward cover would be nice, but not essential if Dos Santos can finally show his Mexico form for Spurs.
Fryers, and maybe Hall, if/when tribunals go through will be good additions with one eye on the bigger picture, and Butland has also been heavily rumoured today too.

I can't help but wonder, and this is just theory, but yesterday/this morning, I read somewhere there had been progress over Modric. Could the imminent cash have prompted the possibility of Adebayor and Lloris, funds freed up prior to official announcement to avoid getting stung once it becomes public knowledge how much we have.
Fingers crossed, because a couple of quick high profile signings could swing the whole momentum and mood of our summer business.

WE could be signing two strikers at once?

You wait 5 years for a striker and two come along at once, typical Spurs.

*disclaimer*This does not mean we have signed anyone let alone two strikers, merely making a joke*end disclaimer*
