So can AEL Limassol! Apart from wages! Does that mean Llorente should choose them? And how on earth can they offer better wages than us? All clubs in Italy are skint!
Without being 100% sure, I think Juve are one of the clubs not struggling financially. I'm probably a million miles out on that though.

I think we hold out standing in world football a little too highly if you ask me.

From our friends on SSN: Sunderland will pay in excess of £14million from Fletcher from Wolves... Crazy Crazy stuff! Sunderland will spend that on a striker, it seems we never will again at this rate, and Fletcher (wages aside) is going to be more expensive than Llorente?? I dont get it? 100k a week must be more than Llorentes current wage, and isnt all the talk in Italian football about how they struggle to match Premier League transfer fees and salaries... That's my lot on Llorente... (unless I find he'a assigned the 9 for the WBA game!)

How many years left on Fletcher's contract? Sunderland likely more confident of keeping him than clubs are of keeping Llorente.

Does Garethbale have good rep as not being a bullshitter?

Not that it makes any difference, he's a youngish film cameraman who has wanted to get into sports coverage over the last few year or so and has now been taken on freelance by sky i believe. I'll go with the other comment - he is a regular poster on COYS, but doesn't post bulls**t imo. He wouldn't post this type of thing without believing it i reckon.

Whether it's true is a different matter - would expect a POTL thought on this.

Firstly, I think Modric demanding a loyalty pay off after engineering his own move to RM is shocking. For all some are saying it will be in his contract, so has to be paid, I think you are missing the point. He does indeed have a contract, a fairly long one, so Levy would be well within his rights to say you either forfeit the payment after the way you've behaved, or you stay put. It's a game of poker, who holds the strongest hand, he knows we don't want a disruptive influence in the dressing room, and his fee would allow us to rejig the squad, but Levy knows he has Modric tied in for 4? more years, so no danger of him walking away on a bosman. First one to blink loses. If Modric wants his move that much, he'll waive his payoff.

Now, as for the striking situation, I took it from JJ's info that Ade was imminent, with another striker to follow. However, AVB has also said Kane will be striker no.3, which leads me to believe Defoe will be allowed to leave once striker number 2 is signed, fingers crossed for 'garethbale's' info to be on the money there then.
Adebayor and Leandro would be a better fit for AVB's system, and reduce the need for 'round pegs in square holes'... I think Damaio is more likely, as Llorente and Adebayor are too similar in terms of their squad status, also age, both would want to be the senior option, and I don't believe we would be able to rotate to either's satisfaction, think Anelka/Drogba at Chelsea. Whereas, Damaio's age and inexperience in the European leagues would allow a certain level of natural selection, Adebayor the senior player for now, with Damaio eased in through lesser league games and cups, slowly taking over. Having Llorente and Ade, they would hit their 30's at a similar time, but Damiao will still be mid twenties, ready to take over the mantle.
Beyond those, this guy Aubameyang allegedly wouldn't cost too much, would be the right age, and offer a wide forward to cover/compete with Bale, whilst also being able to offer another CF option, though maybe that's asking too much... Could this be the guy Ryan Tegan/JJ suggested as the leftfield option. A cheaper Remy?

Sort that, then the cm option to replace Modric... Maybe a young keeper, though the striker puzzle is the big one to sort first.

This Israeli kid sounds interesting, but seems more of a DM rather than the playmaker AVB suggests we are after. If the price is reasonable, maybe it's time we started picking up these sorts of players rather than letting them go to the likes of Wigan etc, then paying 5/6/7 times the price once they're proven.

If my mate text me saying "Leandro". I'd text him him back and say "WTF about him???"

Tell GB on COYS, not to be scared, and ask his mate to go into detail before he bothers posting on Spurs Forums.

Don't mind people rating my post dumb... I can't see a problem with what i'm saying. Why doesn't he ask his mate to elaborate and find out what he knows. His mate text him saying Leandro!!!! AND????????????? Find out more details, and then post your info on here or COYS.

A bit of info from 'GarethBale' on COYS

Just had a text from someone who I trust implicitly and has never text me about football before.

This guy works in finance in the City and would have no reason to send me bogus info.

Now, I don't want to put my neck on the line and in no way would I say myself or the person who text me are ITK but his text said 'Leandro - you heard it here first'.

I'm passing this on in good faith.

Could possibly tie in with Wishka's info I suppose.

:ROFLMAO:

text received 3 years ago?

Also, anyone who uses the phrase 'you heard it here first' probably uses football messageboards tbh, its phrased in a very ITK-ish way.

If A.C Milan who has the backing of the Mafia and until Recently the Goverment are struggling then I'm sure Juve is struggling as well.

dude, seriously: we're about to announce adebayor for approx £5m... would you rather pay nearly three times as much for someone worse? Let Levy do his thing - it's worked out ok for the last few years...

I agree. If someone I knew sent me a text along those lines, I'd probably ask for some more information before running off to post it on here.

It's really, really frustrating at times but you are spot on my friend.

Levy always comes through in the end. In the grand scheme of things we should all take stock. Gone are the days of Rivaldo writing us a letter, we are now serious contenders with a shiny new training ground and a shiny new stadium to follow. All of this done on on not selling our best players every time an offer comes in and buying new ones that will improve our team.

I don't always like it, but Levy is the man with the plan!

Well Juventus moved to the new stadium recently, but considering that it has only 41,000 capacity, I would expect theirs match day incomes to be lower than those of Spurs. Therefore I wouldn't be so sure about them being able to offer bigger wages than us.

Aye; Ade for c. £5m will be one of the deals of the season.

I've been pretty frustrated with the window so far but the way things are going I can understand why Levy has for the most part shunned looking to acquire players domestically.
