At this very moment, Modrat seems to be staying. You know, if he is willing to knuckle down and get back to working like a pro and play his best on the pitch, I reckon we have a title contending team (if Ade + 1 signs) out there.. But think fans will get on his back, not if 2011 is anything to go by though.

He is right though, regardless of how you feel about his info, how he posts it, or if you consider him to exaggerate things whatever, there is no need for abuse and those that don't like it can unfollow !

I dunno if Harry or Levy is to blame (or to which extents) but had we signed either of those guys I am certain we'd be a CL outfit right now and have more funds to spend and more players would be open to joining us

It's just infuriating that we chase piped dreams when 2 very attainable forwards were available last Jan and we didn't even sniff at them. All this Llorente talk is bullshit and you guys know it. Fast forward 12 months and no doubt we will be wanking allover Luuk De Jong yet again this summer we were nowhere near him....

Both gambles though, paid off so far but interesting to see if people feel the same about these 2 come May. Cisse looked very ordinary Saturday imo.

I won't be. De Jong is average IMO. It is alright saying what if we had signed such a player but what about all the other players that were available that people mentioned who have turned out poor. Everythings easy in hindsight. not only that there wasn't exactly a big clamour for them players on here at the time and I'm sure there would have been a lot of whinging if they came. Also let's see how both of those players do this year for a full season because personally I'm not totally convinced.

I believe JJ hinted that it was more down to Levy than Harry that we didn't go for Cisse (and apparently we also ignored Carr's advice on him four years ago). As far as I'm aware we were never linked with Jelavic, and at least half of SC would have been shrieking "Lack of ambition!" if we had.

Honestly, if we had signed Cisse or Jelavic do you think either would have pushed VDV out of the starting line up and we would have gone with a front two? Because neither were forcing Adebayor out because, and 3 months of football won't change my mind, Adebayor is better than both! He is also better than Ba before he gets brought up.
Doesn't mean I wouldn't want any of the 3 at our club ( I would like Ba especially ) but if we are playing one up front, Adebayor is the man for that role.
Look at how great Pienaar looked towards the end of the season. We had him yet he couldn't dislodge better players in our line up. Taking Cisse out of the Newcastle side and placing him in ours doesn't necessarily mean we get 13 goals in 14 games from him. Style of play and approach determine this and, well, he was in a purple patch that he had never experienced before and I bet he won't ever experience again.

How do you know we haven't a hope of Llorente? And are you saying that we shouldn't even try, although it seems he could be available? You were very keen on Huntelaar, as I recall.
He also managed to score 7 goals from 12 games in an extremely shit West Ham team too.
