I just want the Bale situation clarified. All this silence from our end is deafening. No news is good news right? :(

AVB has said as much about Leandro and Chelsea. Also all the ITK last summer pointed to his targets being Leandro, Ferdinandinho, Willian and Moutinho.

Oh I don't disagree that he rates him as a footballer.

Just that he'll be above the list including others. He might have angled for Leandro whilst at Chelski as others weren't available.

Soldado will be available now you'd think - although he'll still be pricey.

He ticks all the boxes for me. Can link up, score all sorts of goals and has a work ethic (a must in PL).

Has a huge amount of experience too at 27yrs. Perfect age.

Would love to know where the stories of £85m bids for Bale actually come from, just sound like random numbers chucked in to make a shocking headline

Also there is a real question mark over Kaboul's ability to recover from his injury and get back to the sort of form he was showing. Anyone who wants to sell Dawson is being very short sighted. Fortunately I think AVB realises the importance of players like him.

Sorry but I don't rate Dawson like some , the reason avb picked him was Kabul got injured and he had no choice but to play Dawson , I know Dawson loves the club but I wouldn't miss seeing an average defender who gets beat constantly at corners .watch Dawson play against Andy Carroll at Upton park last season truly shocking.

This is patently untrue, AVB could have continued with Caulker and used Gallas in preference to Dawson when he was fit, yet he stuck with Dawson.

Also your assertion that Dawson is an average defender who constantly gets beats at corner is wrong. Dawson is an above average defender, who was no worse when defending corners than Vertonghen, Caulker or Gallas. Our problem with set pieces were down to poor errors from the coaching staff as well as individuals. We neglected to have men on the posts, clearly didn't assign markers properly, and compounded it by switching to a god-awful zonal marking system. Yes Dawson was directly at fault for some goals, all defenders are. However to suggest that makes him average is silly, as Vertonghen cost us more goals than Dawson last season, and nobody is decrying him as an average player. People are quick to pick out the errors, but how about you sit down and do the same for all our players and then count up the number of goal saving challenges, blocks and clearances. I think you will find that paints Dawson as more than an average player.

Story is in the Sunday Times, which I have just checked out. imo, lazy journo writing: deafening with the lack of quotes, all of it is guesswork.

Basically, RM pres needs to make himself look brilliant to the fans, esp with Neymar going to Barca. This, plus getting Suarez, is the logic - his modus operandi being get the player to want to go to leave their existing club and then move in.

A sep article in the paper 'details' how this has worked previously - but not one word on how difficult our chairman is (or can be) to deal with, which I believe is beyond the situation they have faced with other captures.

Think we'll end up with Leandro and Villa, then a selection from the likes of: Dragovic, Can, Clasie, Roberto, Hughes, Fischer and Rebic

Re Brazilians, it's a market AVB and Baldini know very well (remember Baldini has signed a dozen Brazilian teenagers for Roma in the last two years). I doubt they will be names we know already - possibly ones are aren't even playing first team football in Brazil yet.

He's on holiday in America.

The 85m is a world record figure, it's no doubt made up because the Ronaldo fee was 80m.

We might have offers but we will not sell Dawson, Townsend, Defoe or Siguardsson.

Defoe will go because of his age. If we sign Villa we aren't going to want two of our three forwards to be 31 year olds.

Villa (31), Ade (29), Leandro (24) in contrast is a pretty perfect age profile.

I agree Dawson, Townsend and Siggy will be hear next year. For me Defoe, Hudd and Livermore will be the main departures, possibly Parker too if we bring in someone like Can.

We can't really afford to sell any striker at the moment without bringing in one.

We'd still have 3 months to get a replacement. Plus Defoe's price will drop a tad if QPR/Fulham/Palace or whoever know we're overloaded and need to sell.

Personally I think Leandro will arrive this week anyway.

I'm hoping he is unknown to journo and it is Bernard. As I'm sure you are having watched him a lot. So gutted no ITK have come out to back this story then again none have come out to dismiss it either.

Yet we always end up getting dissed on deadline day, as for Leandro I'll give you a double optimistic rating on that one.

Some interesting info coming out, and I'm trying to process how much of it I believe. Find it hard to believe we'd sign more than one of Leandro, villa and soldado so can only assume the itk suggesting variously that levy wants all of them means they're options on a list. Secondly, if we're trying to do things early and have this established of targets (mostly portuguese, brazilian and spanish players, so likely to be avb and levy's men) then ehats baldini coming to do?
