Oh yeah, there are some excellent goals in there (about 1:10 was the best IMO, exceptional first touch to bring the ball down), i'm just unsure that he'll fit into what we need. Can he play up front on his own? I'm not sure. I think he would be more suited to playing away from home as he'd have more space to run into. Might be a good player to bring off the bench and stretch games.

I agree that he'd be a good signing for around 4/5m. Wouldn't want to spend anymore that than though.

I'm not too convinced we'll be after a 'lone striker'? I have a feeling that AVB will want a 'three pronged attack', with all of the front 3 interchanging & pulling the defence all over the place. That's just my opinion/thought, though. I'm not saying Vydra is/would be the answer to our problems upfront, far from it. I'm just trying to say I certainly wouldn't be too disappointed if we were to bring him in. Let's face it, he seems to have shown more in one season in the championship, than Obika & Kane have shown is about 375 loans between them.

Just a question regarding ackie's info - his statements never make the RO. Is there a reason for this? he says he messages mods. Can any mods shine any light on whether we should consider him as ITK?

I see what you're saying, and although many don't agree that they're ready, yet, i think we DO have some 'decent' depth in midfield. We have Townsend who is cover for both wings. We have Carroll and Holtby who could be cover for Dembele. We have Parker and Lluongo who could cover for Sandro, we have Livermore too but I don't personally think he's good enough.

I have high hopes for both of Carroll & Lluongo, both are more creative than Parker, Livermore, Sandro & probably even Dembele too (he's not creative, he's good at beating players). Lloungo has real devilment to his game, I like that, and Carroll has impressed pretty much everyone. Holtby has spoke of his desire (preference?) to play a deeper role, and I think AVB could well give him that chance once Holtby has fully acclimatised to PL football.

My point? Well as much as I see what you're saying, and agree to a certain extent, I don't think that strengthening the 'depth' of midfield is quite as important as strengthening the 'depth' of our striking department, of which there is none whatsoever. And why does our defence need more depth? As it stands we have 3 potential LB's (BAE, Rose, Fryers).. We have 2 RB's (Walker, Naughton) and we have the choices of Kaboul, Caulker, Vertonghen & Dawson for CB. That's without thinking of Gallas & Khumalo..

I think Ackie knows or meets agents in Europe, so might hear things from time to time. Maybe it's too difficult to get confirmation.

There's a few on here with accurate info that doesn't make the RO. Rebrab's info never used to make the RO (not sure if it does now), but he's somebody I have a lot of time for.

Yeah, his name is freaking brilliant.

Also, Andre Carrillo would be a fantastic addition. He's a RW that while not scoring many goals does look to have the potential to score more (he's got a great shot on him).

Other players I'd LOVE to see us interested in from Sporting: Andre Martins, Zakaria Labyad and Eric Dier.

rebrab's stuff makes the RO when people take time to post it in there. However rebrab doesn't usually bother to throw his weight behind other ITK, so he doesn't post info too often unless no-one else has said it.
