The childish excitement I get at the potential of multiple signings is great.

I just wish I wasn't a cynical bastard expecting only one name to appear in the press in the next few days, to eventually sign them 1 month later after 50,000 Romano tweets and then that's it.

So, based on today’s ITK, it would appear that the only ‘new‘ players to potentially be in the squad against City would be Gollini, Romero. Neither of whom will start. The latter hasn’t had a full pre season yet. And now with Kane creating a very messy situation, that also throws our plans for a bit of a loop. Can’t see us having a marginally settled squad until after the international break at the beginning of September. Far too many things up in the air with the season starting a week from Sunday. Less than ideal. But it is what it is… a transitional season.
I'm not saying Romero will start - but he had a full summer playing for Argentina, and surely it does not take as long for a CB to get back up to fitness after just a few weeks off...

As people rightly guessed, this was a hint that we'd heard Messi was leaving. Credit to the ITKs on here behind the scenes.

When you think about it, it's quite insane that some dudes on a homepage can get info on deals of this size and magnitude before the media picks them up. In my line of work, any such leaks would be devastating and I'm guessing highly illegal.

That's lovely to hear, thanks for the update! Similar to investing. It's the time to buy now and I hope Levy and the board realize that to give the green light to FP.

A rebuild now could be expensive, but in a few years time, we could have 3-4 more 100m worth players. I hope we continue to target good, experienced but younger players that can increase significantly in value.
I agree That's what's so frustrating with some of Spurs 'near miss' purchases in the past for the want of an extra £4-5m, such as Grealish. They were always going to increase in value, so no real risk imo

This is the one summer that I can handle things not being ready for game 1. The long term rebuild is more important than anything else and as long as we get the ins and outs I am happy.

It was cruel adding Trix’s (excellent, thank you) update to the ITK thread after that other news broke…

F*** sake. This means a ton of “Messi jokes” every day for the rest of the window… I don’t think I can handle that…

What I'll add is that nothing we do financially right now is dependant on Kane. We know we will get a chunk of money for him be it this Summer or next. It's a buyers market especially from abroad as none of them have any ?

I was told 5 more in. Which I laughed at but apparently my source was being serious.
We will never have a window opportunity like this again. A lot of the bigger European clubs to skint to move for players that we'd normally lose out on to them (Romero). Even more so if we get the Kane money.

It's the absolute right time to go for it! Hopefully we see a big shift in terms of personnel and that leads to a better more focused mentality too.

We are laughing at many transfer related news lately, but the club ain't having any of that.

A&C has given me the go ahead to expand on what the Goat has said. I can confirm that transfer funds have been boosted as myself, wife and kids will be doing the stadium tour tomorrow. The £51 spent will go directly into the Messi transfer fund. I’m taking no further questions at this time.
