Striker please. Don't need another CM / CB right now (Dier, Chiriches). If Kane gets injured, we are stuffed and can kiss goodbye to Europe. Did you see RS9's miss on Wed!?! As the ITK has indicated, Ings would be great cover and something a little different to what we have...

Are you sure? If we can't get another striker in then I really wouldn't have a major problem with Soldado being in the team for a few weeks. Funnily enough an enforced prolonged spell might well help him out. It would not be a complete disaster imo as he actually is a proper striker - albeit one that is not scoring. It's not as if he is a player that really does not know what he's doing or is not experienced. Half the job is to not get bullied and Soldado does not do that.

As I've mentioned before, although a striker should be scoring, I've got no issues with Soldado if he continues to set up goals for our other enthusiastic goalscorers (Chadli, Eriksen). It's not ideal, but as long as we're scoring and players are contributing and finishing chances I wouldn't mind having a forward with no goals but 20+ assists all season rather than 20+ goals and no assists - it's the same outcome, tbh.

And you think that's going to be Soldado, do you?

No, it isn't, is it?

General player suitability is, as we're talking about trying to shift a striker out which could leave a weakness.

Why I feel we won't be left short is related, but a Q&A about Soldado is not.

spoke with Kyle Naughton last night . He said he was unsure if he was going to leave, but said it wouldn't be up to him

Yup agree with a lot of this

That being said, if we could find a young midfielder (preferably attacking) who could run with the ball and really pick a pass, then I think it would give us another option. We're very reliant on a few players at the moment and just bringing a bit more flair in wouldn't hurt.

Maybe a CB too, if the right one became available.

But generally, I'm very pleased to see the approach we're using, and it's likely to save us plenty of cash too

recall Pritchard from Brentford, you just described him to a T !

If players have a season long loan can you recall them?

I believe you can as long as the player isn't loaned to another PL squad....so Pritch could be recalled (LFC just recalled Ibe from Derby yesterday for example) but Carroll couldn't be recalled from Swansea (unless the Swans terminated the loan).

Word seems to be that we inserted a clause to have the right to recall him in January should we choose to do so, and this is given evidence by the facts that a) Pritch wasn't cup-tied in either cup and b) the fact Brentford brought in a specific attacking mid replacement in the event of the possibility we did recall.

he got a 12 month ban and £3600 fine, this morning.

That's fucking disgusting!!

I've got a 'friend' down here who was stopped when pulling out of the football club I used to play for, then breathalysed & found to be over the limit. He'd had a pint and a bottle of Carlsberg, so was only just over the limit, and had literally just pulled out of the car-park. The result was an 18 month ban & a £1100 fine, for a guy who stacks shelves at Tesco..... Yet Berahino is not only over the limit, but doing in excess of 100MPH, yet get's a fine that's not even a quarter of his weeks wage, and a ban that's only two thirds that which my mate got. Fucking punishment = Deterrent ? My arse!!

EDIT: Sorry for the outburst.

Pochettino has suggested he would rather bring an academy player through than go and buy someone this month

"I think it's important to give opportunity to young players who have the quality to be involved in the first team."

"I'm happy with the squad and with the young players we have."

I realise all managers come out & say "I'm happy with the squad" and then go out and buy someone, but I'd not be at all unhappy if Poch has indeed decided to use the rest of this season to use/integrate some youngsters, then have them ready, both physically & mentally for next season. Could be a very good move, if true.

Pochettino really has got balls with his youth policy. Many other managers i.e. AVB and Harry would sooner have pushed to go to the transfer market rather than looking to our home grown. I hope he succeeds with this policy as it could be the making of our club, and draw more talented youngsters to our academy, for the next cycle of the process.

Is there an academy striker to be brought through?

Pochettino's also said that Ade has been looking good in training and is almost ready to make a return (the ju-ju curse has presumably been lifted). Great if it happens, but I'll believe it when I see it.
