Nothing against Modric

Knuckled down last season and worked hard, didn't put in a transfer request this summer or act like a ****, he is going to the biggest club in the world, I wish him well
totally this, if he moves abroad God's speed, if he goes to Chavski or Citey say then I'm gonna be like, fuck you , you rat faced 90's hairstyle wearing mutherfucca, so it's RM all day long for me as long as they pay his market value

I think, much as I will hate to see him leave, Modric leaving relatively soon is no bad thing if we can get a good amount of money in (and considering that they were bidding against PSG I'm assuming it was a decent bidding war).

Obviously the concern is that Moutinho isn't done/anywhere near done yet (depending on who you listen to) and that leaves a big gap in our squad, but hopefully 35m+ will help fill that gap.

Is that the Russian lad that scored a great goal in the Euros? Looks a prospect, sign him up!

You're right - we should also take a look at that Corluka fella and his mate Modric (though he's probably a bit out of our league, one of the big boys will be after him no doubt) as they looked the business for Croatia!

Fixed..... agree with all of this though.

Indeed. Would like to think Moutinho (or whoever is the replacement if he's a no go) is announced on the same day or before Modric is confirmed as gorn. Might as well drop trou otherwise.

It can also work the other way around. Once we have signed a replacement, RM will think that we can't possibly keep Modric around, and this may affect the size of their bid.

But is it great news? I would assume if Levy doesn't get a suitable bid he will stay another year

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Ari a Sports agent?

I had a short series of correspondence with him a few years back, and at that time he was a sports journalist; one who writes sensibly and unlike the majority of them that give us garbage daily.

It would be good to sell Modric early so we have no distractions in pre-season. We might as well prepare for the new season without him around the place. Ideally we need to get his replacement in ASAP though, because teams will know we have the Modric money burning a hole in our pockets.

I wouldn't be surprised if we just pay a little over the odds for Moutinho. Something around the £30m mark. We'll still be covered with the Modric money.

Goodbye and good luck Luka. At least with Madrid we can enjoy watching him, unlike if it was City, United or shitty Chelsea.

After the scene he and his people caused last year and the lack of respect he showed the club I wouldn't have any pride in a Modric Spurs shirt.

Great player yes, he did his part last year although I feel he could have done better if his heart was more in the club and of course going to Real eases the disappointment a lot compared to him going to a Utd/Chelsea/City but regardless he still wanted to go Chelsea last year and caused trouble in an attempt to force his way out.

I don't really have any respect for any player paid more in a week than the average annual salary who misses games because "his head is not in the right place" and disrespects his employers by having his head in the wrong place for that week whilst he's has been paid 80k or whatever to play for the club that week (get your fucking head right mate)

As long as he goes Real and not a rival I will wish him well and appreciate the star he has been for the club, but the fact he wanted to leave for Chelsea last year and the way he went about it means to be honest I couldn't give a fuck if he crashes and burns at Real and ends up playing in Germany in 2 years having been sold for a third of the fee Real paid for him

The question is... how big a bid is big! Genuinely Levy porn star big? Or is actually being oversold?! ;)

I guess time will tell, but let's hope it's pushing the €40+ mark.

One assume also therefore that that would rule out a player swap.
