And where would the Scousers be without Suarez' goals? Their defence was almost as comical as ours.

Edit: Entertaining ratings from no-marks who haven't, apparently, checked the league table recently. Liverpool let in 50 goals, we let in 51. This would suggest that their defence was quite as bad as ours.

Yep.....the main thing that set Liverpool apart from us was their attack.

We need to improve our scoring department by 40% if we want to be in the top 4.

The number 1 reason people want poch, is he has his team playing at FULL potential. Now if he gets Lamela ,Soldado,Eriksen,Chadli, paulinho playing to there full potential, watch us fly

I love the intensity and tempo Southampton play with, and I think that's important in this League . Their aggressive pressing from the front and their really sharp passing/movement and how fluid they look when they're coming forward, that's what I really like about them.

And its consistent, week in week out. I know they dip sometimes in games a bit, but other than that I think the way he has them playing is the perfect blue print to succeed in this League. Easy on the eye but a real work ethic instilled to.

Some seem to find Poch underwhelming because Saints are doing no better than you'd expect them to. I tipped them in 9th ahead of the season, so to som extent I'm inclined to agree. That does, however, not make him a bad option, cos as you say, we've got proper players. If Poch were to get the potential out of the squad, I'd say we'd be on the same level as Arsenal.

We shouldn't be looking for a miracle worker, cos there are so few of them anyway. What we should be looking for is someone who can make the squad perform on the level that's expected of them, and I believe Poch fits that bill.

But Tim Sherwood got our squad, with all our injuries, performing like a top 4 team..........why replace him to bring in this guy?

a real work ethic instilled to.

Yet Southampton's record of gaining points from a losing position was incredibly poor. Doesn't exactly suggest a side willing to bust a gut to get back into a game, or a manager that knows how to change the outcome through tactical decisions.

You might say the same of Palace under Pulis.

Absolutely guys...lets not forget that we had the best record at recovering from going behind.

And how have they performed against the less-than-better sides? Sure, we've been appalling against the Sky Four this season, under both Villas-Boas and Sherwood, but that's hardly anything new; outside the top four, we've been very solid indeed.

We have been solid against the rest.

I was talking about performances rather than results, although the latter holds more weight when all said and done, over the long term anyway.

I believe their record in terms of results against the better sides is a bit better than ours, I think. I just think their performances have been better overall against the better sides even though they havn't always taken something from the game.

I know they have a fantastic academy, and have some very talented footballers in their own individual right. However, as a collective he has them playing in a way I think is not only very attractive to the eye but one that is very suited to doing well in this League - the high intensity etc. The players have clearly bought into his ideas and have flourished as a result, a well coached side enhances individual performance.

Did he, though? We did pick up a fair amount of points, but very few of those games were won in an impressive manner. Pochettino's got a clear philosophy and his football is a joy to watch. I'll take that over Sherwood any day.

Yes, I would. But I don't think they look anywhere near as fluid in terms of their actual passing and movement. But that's offset against their work rate, organisation and desire to win for their manager.

So badly managed and coached that they've won 60% of their games under Sherwood.
Sheesh.

We're half way through a mutiny!

Sherwood is minimum rumoured to have fallen out with Sandro, Capoue, Dembele, Holtby.
He hauled off Chiriches & showed no faith in him.
Paulinho got the hump when he got dropped & his agent is touting him around
Vertonghen has been trying to get out since before even Sherwood started.
Lloris won't be without offers.
He dropped Townsend, gave up playing Soldado by the end.

The only players left obviously 'happy' were Ade, Eriksen and his babies.

The tactics were erratic, the formations varied week by week, he played players in entirely new positions on a whim, talked utter nonsense to the press, undermined the players' confidence repeatedly and contrived to become so unpopular amongst the fans that he couldn't even play in a testimonial!

But he won 59% of his games. AND LOST 37% of them: the worst rate of a Spurs coach.

Tim Sherwood, everybody. Thankyou very much.

Some people's expectations are beyond ridiculous. For some it appears there can't be any flaws in our new manager whatsoever.

Or people just don't want us making the same mistakes we have repeatedly over the past few years.
