Game theory, who do you trust to come out on tops? :)

The one with an economics background. Always. Wait! I see what you did there, you cheeky bastard ;)

It's true though. You would always trust Levy in a GT situation

We should have a Bale Mood Meter on the banner. We'll get Kentucky to write it up.

But an arrow moving from red to green showing the 7 sem-bale-ances of G-bop

Responsibale? :geek: Like turning up to training?

But really folks come on, I cannot believe this is what he would do - something is rumbling deeper.

If there was a chance he didn't want to leave before, being stalked in a park by BEN will have just about made Bale's mind up I suspect...

If it's true that he's not at training, then it could be that either the ITK on him coming back was wrong (does happen), or the situation has changed and he is away with the blessing of the club, which would PROBABLY suggest a deal has been reached or is close.

He's not necessarily on strike.

And this is still not ITK.

And it's still boring.

Regarding 'now or never' - hasn't there been a lot of murmering that this is the last big summer for irresponsible spooging of money on transfers before clubs have to at least try and look a little bit like they give a shit?

Heard Madrid are in 590millon pound worth of debt

The tax authorities in Spain currently have a moratoriam on all action against the Spanish clubs at the moment (as far as I am told).

In the last year the clubs have collective paid in about 100m Euros but they are still down by 500m or so. The administration of Deportivo and Betis cost the authorities a lot of money so the current reckoning is they would rather not risk going after the real "offender" clubs like Valencia, Malaga and Sevilla because they know they (and other Spanish Clubs) would lose a packet.

Real and Barca are in a slightly different situation in that they can afford to pay back what they owe because they generate so much income - so I expect both of them to fight this TV rights collective package right to the hilt. In fact they may even try to sign a long term deal covering the next few years to delay the effect of the law as it can not be applied retrospectively and they would be able to wait out the current contracts.

The irony in all this is due to the differences in the way debt is calculated between UEFA and the banking system, in terms of real debt, Real and Barcelona's combined real debt is probably half that of Man United's. Big difference is that United's debt is in the form of bonds and the Spanish duos is in that of banking loans (in a very weak economy) and the fact that player values are often not considered when looking at net assets. If you look at the figures and apply a certain degree of perspective to what you are comparing you will actually see that United would be in real trouble if they have a few unsuccessful seasons as their revenue simply does not have the debt coverage required for the running of a stable business.

Something who would do? Me? If you cannot believe that I would spend 10 minutes on dictionary.com finding synonyms for a corny joke then you haven't been paying attention. :D
