No, he goes with my blessing. Either way we win and he's put in a serious shift for us over the last few years. Modric went about it the complete wrong way and I'm yet to see anything but a media beat up with Bale at the moment

Victor Becali has apparently stated Chiriches will sign a 5 year deal with us.

In the last year the clubs have collective paid in about 100m Euros but they are still down by 500m or so. The administration of Deportivo and Betis cost the authorities a lot of money so the current reckoning is they would rather not risk going after the real "offender" clubs like Valencia, Malaga and Sevilla because they know they (and other Spanish Clubs) would lose a packet.

Real and Barca are in a slightly different situation in that they can afford to pay back what they owe because they generate so much income - so I expect both of them to fight this TV rights collective package right to the hilt. In fact they may even try to sign a long term deal covering the next few years to delay the effect of the law as it can not be applied retrospectively and they would be able to wait out the current contracts.

The irony in all this is due to the differences in the way debt is calculated between UEFA and the banking system, in terms of real debt, Real and Barcelona's combined real debt is probably half that of Man United's. Big difference is that United's debt is in the form of bonds and the Spanish duos is in that of banking loans (in a very weak economy) and the fact that player values are often not considered when looking at net assets. If you look at the figures and apply a certain degree of perspective to what you are comparing you will actually see that United would be in real trouble if they have a few unsuccessful seasons as their revenue simply does not have the debt coverage required for the running of a stable business.

From what I know their debt of around 600m euros does not include tax debt. In fact the Spanish authorities have excluded RM and Barca tax liability from the figures of what is owed. RM and Barca have tax advantages anyway as 'fan run clubs' so have a huge headstart over other clubs in Europe

I've seen a picture of him so I think you can get away with it. It would be quite a walk to go round him, anyway.

Interesting that he seems to have learnt how to use the shift key over the last year or so.

I just cannot get my head round people who have actually watched our two games, one against fodder and one against an average side, both games we have lacked creativity, a cutting edge, and pretty much a 'spark', that this proves we somehow mysteriously don't need Bale anymore.

surely that is our ONLY objective this last week though, to address that appalling lack of cutting edge going forward we suffer from. (and replace danny rose)

I refuse to accept we would be so stupid as to believe that we can get by scoring at a rate of 1 a game.

To be fair mate, all of our new signings are going to need time to gel with the squad. Although it is clear we do need at least one creative player to come in.
