surely that is our ONLY objective this last week though, to address that appalling lack of cutting edge going forward we suffer from. (and replace danny rose)

I refuse to accept we would be so stupid as to believe that we can get by scoring at a rate of 1 a game.
Absolutely. The creative spark is unlikely to be Bale, that's what people need to get over. Just hope that the club sign adequate replacements. I would disagree that we don't need Bale, but it seems we can't have him. Unfortunately, while I got over it weeks ago, it's still hanging over us.

Appreciate Ben's info although Bale's response itself needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. What else is he really going to tell a fan? See what happens, love spurs. He isn't going to say get me out of here, can you help oh random stranger? Standard lip service to a random fan. It means nothing in the greater sense.

I don't really understand, do you think that the two games we have just played PROVE that we no longer need Bale?

Everybody needs Bale.

But we've managed two wins without him/a replacement for him and that's good grounding. If we sell him, I still think we'll buy Lamela and another and we should be set.

The agent confirms! YES YES YES - what could possibly scupper now???
His other 3 agents, parents, part-owners, primary school who say he is actually 34, Romanian prison authorities who scupper the deal as the chairman isn't allowed to make business decisions from the big house.

What is "Apparent" about it? Did he say it, or did he say it via a ventriloquist's dummy?
I'd assume it is apparent as Snarf didn't witness it himself, but is instead relying on other sources /media outlets, which may or may not be reliable...

What we do with the Bale money with a week to go is going to make or break our season.
I cant say im particularly comfortable leaving it so close to the end of the window but im not even contemplating us not moving fast on some serious creativity.

If Lamela falls through it will be a minor disaster.

I don't disagree they need time to gel, I just don't understand the whole 'we have shown we don't need Bale' view, I would think our previous two games have shown the exact opposite.

I think it's because...

'We have shown that we don't need Bale, as long as we recruit a suitable replacement. Even though, I should add, we all know that said replacement will not be as good as Bale himself, but will hopefully fill the creative hole our otherwise hardworking and efficient team currently has and thus enable us to operate more effectively as an entire team, rather than the somewhat shallow one we were forced to deploy following Sandro's injury last season. Which of course was the exact unfortunate event that let to Mr. Bale being an absolute necessity in the first place.'

...is just a lot of f**king effort to type out.

That's assuming we get 38 penalties a season

Bale was not our creative spark. He was, is, a force of nature who cannot be stopped when he moves in on goal. He rarely created goals for others other than with his crosses.

My head hurts. I think I am experiencing Deja Vu on this website. I have the feeling I have read all the posts before.

Is it something wrong with the site? (n)

From what I know their debt of around 600m euros does not include tax debt. In fact the Spanish authorities have excluded RM and Barca tax liability from the figures of what is owed. RM and Barca have tax advantages anyway as 'fan run clubs' so have a huge headstart over other clubs in Europe

The point I was making is that the 600m is not debt at all. It is total Liabilities of which (strangely) they also include early season ticket renewals - which don't become part of the cash flow until each match has been played. The real debt, over and above their real assets is closer to about 150m.

The debt problems currently at Real are grossly exaggerated. However, they still don't have money because the Tax authorities are taking 35% of all TV revenue to pay off the Tax bill as of next year and Real has a lot of part payment transfer money to continue paying off with almost no more assistance from the banks.

Therefore, can they afford a straight up payment for Bale? No way!

Hmm.

JJ is retiring in a week.
Anyone know of anyone in the club thought to be leaving any time soon?

No... surely... it can't be!

[And obviously isn't ;) ]

Or even a 'scout' joining Spus so no longer able to report things as an insider ......
